We spend two nights in the Sun House in our trip to Sri Lanka, and I would have remained there for at least a week. The house has a very beautiful decoration, all in white and pale colors, full of antiques and Sri Lankan handcrafts and pieces of art. Every room is different from the other and full of nice...

Our group took over the hotel for a wedding. The whole experience and atmosphere were incomparable. The hotel is converted from an old largely single storey house with bedrooms round a courtyard. The bedroom and bathroom were fine with tasteful furnishings.
The meals were served in beautiful surroundings and were magnificent. But best of all was the service and friendliness...

We staid in the Sun House the first 3 days of our trip to Sri Lanka. And I wish we had staid more. Eventhough Sri Lanka is remarkably friendly and beautiful, Thesunhouse has its own standards.
It is beautiful, secluded, very well decorated- nice pool and wonderful food. And above all that a absolutely amazing and attentive staff.

We stayed there for one night during the Galle Literary Festival (GLF) 2012. This was one of the venues for the GLF evening events, so the atmosphere was quite busy. It's a colonial residence converted to a hotel; has a spacious sitting room with a library and a cozy bar area. The front garden was decorated with ‘fairy lights’ and...

Hen, the hotel manager, makes you feel as if you have been friends for years, offers you insightful stops and restaurants along your journey and makes the stay casual (in a good way). The rooms are well designed, service is attentive but not over bearing and restaurant is a must for dinner.
Walking distance to the Galle Fort, Sun House...

We stayed for 2 nights and it was Brilliant experience. Very private and quiet. The food was delicious! I've never had such nice curry in my life. (I stay in an Asian-dominated part of south London). The breakfast was so nice and we had fresh fruit in the morning. Just pure heavenly food, I tell you. Now I'm on my...

We stayed here for our last night of our holiday before returning to the UK. We stayed in the Cinnamon suite and it was stunning. It was like something out of an Elle Decoration photo shoot, with a four-poster bed, wrapped in mossie-nets and ceiling fans whirring above your head. The overall finish is far from perfect, but that only...

We were invited by the owner after a chance meeting, to dine at his hotel.
From the moment we stepped through the gates we entered a light, white exotic oasis.
We met the inimitable Henry [the fabulous manager] and were escorted to our dining table on the outside balcony overlooking the fairy lit garden. Imagine, warm tropical air, attentive and...
