This hotel has full of architectural character & the tasteful black & white designs just add to the beauty of it all. The 3 of us spent a very relaxed holiday at 'The Villa'. Friendly staff & yummy cocktails made from local fruits that help you remind you 'are' on holiday.

The road leading to this beautiful property is misleading taking you through a quaint village, however the min you enter into the courtyard your struck by the beautiful architecture. Roshan was right there to welcome us when we arrived, he took us around the property and explained each detail. The highlight of our stay was the suite we were booked... More

First of all the hotel itself is stunning. It is so beautiful. The art and fixture are so tasteful. The grounds are immaculate. The food is sensational. And the staff are so wonderful. It's decadent, but also very chilled. The balance is just right. The location is great, it's around the corner from the main beach in Bentota, so it's... More

Had the pleasure of staying here for 4 nights in early December. Loved the architecture, the proximity of the hotel to the beach & the food (in particular the seafood) was the best that we had eaten in Sri Lanka! The train going by the hotel added to the atmosphere & wasn't a bother to us as we're awake early... More

Pros 1) wonderful architecture courtesy Geoffrey Bawa. Well done up. I really loved the show pieces kept around the property. Gives it a quaint feeling. 2) beautiful pristine white bedrooms with white pillows that say Sleep Well one day and Dream the next :)! 3) dreamy white cot net. Very cosy..princessy feel 3) easy access to beach and pool 4)... More

Despite being off the beaten track, this hotel has a huge amount of character, with excellent staff. We stayed there for 2 nights, which probably a sufficient length of time for what we were looking for. The attention to detail in the hotel decor epitomises what this hotel has to offer. The food was excellent (breakfast and dinner). It is... More

The Best welcome We arrived late and unlike any other hotel we have stayed at on our trip we were shown straight to our room. The attentive and friendly general manager who greeted us - Daham said the paper work could wait and asked if we had eaten. We had our welcome drink, a cool towel and a club sandwich... More

We stayed here for a wedding in November and we had the most incredible time. The staff were so polite, hospitable and kind. Do not believe the review below about stealing, there is no way it was one of the lovely staff members! The food, rooms and grounds of the hotel are all so beautiful. Candles and frangipani flowers are... More

My wife and I spent 2 nights in The Villa following a longer stay in the southern province of Galle. It is a beautiful building, designed by Bawa (as many buildings are in this part of SL). Despite being very close to the railway line this almost adds to the colonial feel of the property and location. The food is... More

Villa Bentota is everything you would ask for in a boutique property. Its beautifully done, the rooms are lovely & always smell good, there is a quaint cafe, lots of sit outs, beautiful pools...Its a feast for the eyes. The red train passing by just adds to the charm. Beach is gorgeous, and so are the wild pineapple trees before... More
