My wife and I stayed at Shilla for our honeymoon after a wedding in Las Vegas. The flight was a bit awful. We flew from Vegas to Incheon and then took a bus to Gimpo Airport. September seemed to be a month when hordes of high schools arrange trips to Jeju. The flight to Jeju and the island itself was... more

Jeju is a very beautiful island in South Korea. Shilla hotel is the best place to stay in Jeju. It is a wonderful hotel with all amenities. For the game freaks, there is a game room full of Playstations and PSPs. Tennis courts, swimming pool, gym - this hotel has it all along with superior service. more

This is the third time I've stayed at this hotel, all times on business for a conference at the hotel. It's a lovely place, but I don't recommend it unless you're Korean or just want to spend a day or two in the area. First, it's very very expensive. For example, a draft beer at the bar is about $14.... more

This is probably the most overrated hotel that I have stayed in. It strives to be a five-star resort, but it is anything but. It combines the worst of Japanese-style hotel decor thriftiness of yesteryear (it is owned by Okura group) and the apparent local attitude of bilking customers out of money with cheap tricks. It might actually be OK,... more

I stayed Shilla Cheju hotel in December, 2006. We arrived at night and really tired. The check-in was super kind and fast. We tried to tip the bell but he kindly declined and said it was the policy. We headed to one of the restaurants in hotel. The food was excellent. My mother-in-law first said she wasn't hungry at all... more

Our stay at The Shilla Cheju was outstanding. The grounds were incredible and well maintained. The weather was awful so we had a lot of indoor time. We were able to use the Spa and pool both of which were clean and well managed. My wife got a massage at the Spa and loved every second of it. It was... more

Stayed at the Shilla for a conference at the hotel -- beautiful facilities and grounds; excellent service. The rooms could use a little updating and more english TV channels, but all in all I was very impressed. more

I had such high hopes for the Shilla -- after all that I had heard about it -- and how Bill and Hillary Clinton and Prime Minister Koizumi had stayed here too ---plus the reviews I read. Well, Bill and Hillary did look really young in the photos they have at the Shilla so they must have stayed here ages... more

Okay, first of all, I was here for a conference, so someone else was paying. I wouldn't stay in this sort of place if I was paying myself. That taken into consideration, the Shilla was amazing. Perfect, in fact. Large, comfortable rooms, plush public areas, grand gardens with a staircase down to the beach, massive buffet breakfast..... it was like... more

I went to the Shilla Hotel as part of an international workshop. The room was wonderful with a beautiful view of the ocean and the well kept gardens. The amenities were what you would expect from a luxury hotel: great water pressure in the shower, slippers, large beds, etc. The restaurants are superb with a substantial vegetarian selection. The highlight... more
