We stayed at the Desmond for one night as part of a business trip. The decor seemed a bit dated, but the rooms were clean and comfortable, and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. If you are a chain hotel fan, this is NOT the place for you, but if you appreciate a unique local hotel, you'll enjoy... more

Hotel tries to be upscale but comes off as cheesy; my grandma might find it nice (ie nice 20 years ago) Rooms: basic room a bit worn, but clean, bed comfortable Hotel amenities: bar; good with good bartenders/cold beer. restaurant; horrible, overpriced bad food, bad service Location, great for what I needed Overall I would stay again but it wouldn’t... more

From the time you get into the room until the time you leave, you feel better than at home. The bed is so contfortable, the pilows were angle soft. The quietness was like nothing you can imangine. I went dorn to dinner and after dinner sat at the computer for a second, the place was so welcoming i sure will... more

My wife and I stayed at the Desmond for a wedding. I was pleasantly surprised by how elegant and charming the hotel was. The staff was extremely pleasant and super helpful. The food at Simpson's was reasonably priced and beat my expectations. The room itself had great character. I felt like I was in my own bedroom. Great hotel. I... more

I got to Albany and it was 38 degrees last night. Ok, well I get to the hotel and they advised me that since they've overbooked they've upgraded me-lucky me. I go to the room and the thermostat is set to 60 and it was freezing. I kicked up to 75 and quickly unpacked and went out for dinner. I... more

We found our stay here to be very enjoyable. Our room has a window facing an indoor atrium with a pool. the set up allows the visitor to get the sensation of an outdoor vacation despite the weather. The property had multiple pools, a huge jacuzzi tub and sauna. the downsides are the proximity to downtown and the price. more

Members attending our conference were in agreement that the Desmond Hotel was a very nice place to stay. The accomodations were quite comfortable and clean. The atmosphere was friendly. There were several conferences going on at the time of our stay and by all appearances it was very organized. The food was excellant and serving and clearing staff were gracious... more

My wife and I came to this hotel as attendees at a conference and booked an executive suite. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by a very efficient young lady who managed to do a complete check-in in about 3 minutes. We walked away from the desk joking that it was the fastest check-in that we had... more

The hotel is interesting for an airport-centered hotel, but the surfaces are scarred, the carpets dirty, and everything is worn. It is better than most chain hotel experiences, but certainly nothing special. more
