My family and I had Christmas dinner at the Simpson's Grille yesterday. We were so happy we went there. My mother, in particular, really enjoyed herself. The atmosphere was beautiful, the food was great and wait staff were very attentive and friendly. I would recommend to anyone.

I was in town to be in a dear friend's wedding. The couple had gotten a discount rate for out of town attendees. Everyone I had mentioned the Desmond to had spoken of it with awe. I got to the hotel to check in. No warmth at the front desk at all. My local supermarket checkout is happier to see... More

We have stayed here on christmas eve for 11+ years and have always had consistently good service. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms are well decorated. We ate dinner on christmas eve and breakfast on christmas day at Simpson's grill in the hotel....both meals were excellent and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. the pool and work... I felt like I was at a Charles Dickens Village at Christmastime. Very impressive, cozy, comfortable, friendly and the best place I've stayed since staying at Grand Ole Opry Hotel earlier this year. I attended my neices wedding and it was like a Cinderella Ball. I will highly consider having my sons wedding at the Desmond in the next year... More

I had to stay here at a last minute business trip for the Army. I was really impressed by the character of the place. It has an old time classic feel to the place. Out of all of the hotels that I have stayed in, this was the only one, that I would say, didn't have any modern amenities about... More

I've stayed at the Desmond twice in the past year - both for extended weekends. Prior to trying the Desmond, I would always stay at the Marriotts in the area - booking by "name" before doing my research and reading reviews on the privately owned hotels. The hotel rooms were very comfortable, quiet and immaculate. The service was personalized. Our... More

large room with two comfortable queen beds, bathroom with amenities and surprisingly plush Egyptian cotton towels. The place looks like a fake colonial mansion, which is hilarious but whatever. The food in the restaurant was pretty good too. Very clean. Reasonably priced, at least with conference rates.

The positive aspects of this hotel are the staff and the location to the airport. The staff are very pleasant and if you are traveling via ALB it is very convenient. For these two reasons I gave it three dots. The room was clean but still had a bit of a musty smell that comes with old materials that need... More

The hotel is lovely and the staff are excellent. I have a very nice room overlooking a pretty courtyard. The only problem is that in the evenings people travel through the courtyard to access their rooms or stop just to socialize and the voices echo and are very loud. Makes it difficult to sleep especially when you have early business... More

I attended a work event this morning and not only were the accommodations beautifully decorated, the banquet staff provided excellent service. Specifically they displayed genuine hospitality and sincere enjoyment of their jobs. They were very warm and welcoming and made me feel wanted at the event. I was served by "Cosme" who was more than happy to have me there.... More
