My wife and I came to this hotel as attendees at a conference and booked an executive suite. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by a very efficient young lady who managed to do a complete check-in in about 3 minutes. We walked away from the desk joking that it was the fastest check-in that we had... more

The hotel is interesting for an airport-centered hotel, but the surfaces are scarred, the carpets dirty, and everything is worn. It is better than most chain hotel experiences, but certainly nothing special. more

I went to a conference that took place at The Desmond Albany. I found the hotel to be very nice and cozy inside. The staff were very personable and professional. The hotel itself is beautiful. My room had two doors, one in the hallway and one that opened up to one of the inside courtyards. I loved it!! The food... more

A number of years ago when I was a student at Siena College, the Desmond was the premiere hotel for parents' weekend and graduation. Now, it's a mere shadow of itself. The rooms are dingy and in desperate need of updating. But more horrifying is the utter lack of housekeeping. Our room had BLOOD on the back of the bathroom... more

We attended our neices wedding and decided to stay overnight to avoid making the 3 hour drive home to Monmouth County, NJ. The hotel was clean, the employees very helpful and the amenities were great, ie the pool and excercise room. Our room had two doors. One leading tp the interior coridoor and the other to the court yard. The... more

I've stayed here a number of times and I always feel the same way: it's a dated place and the beds aren't great, but there's something about it that keeps me coming back. I mean, it's almost kind of eerie to stay in a place modeled after a colonial village square, but the staff is really nice (except for this... more

I stayed at the Desmond twice in June, passing throught Albany to New York and two weeks later on the way home on a road trip. We found the staff to be very friendly and this was one reason why we decided to stay there again. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. We have tried both the courtyard facing and... more

Well, my family & I stayed here just to sleep on our way to Lake Placid two years ago. It was alright at night cause we were tired and ready to go. The people were averagely pleasurable to talk to and my little brothers loved the inside "courtyard" that looks like a real outdoor starry sky. The room was average... more

Tonight I planned a romantic getaway but had it rudely awakened by dirty sheets, and black hairs on 2 of the towels in our room (the first two we looked at - I didn't even look at the rest). Let me also note that the only reason they didn't get a single star rating was the Scrimshaw. Dinner was delicious... more

We paid $140 plus tax per night and booked directly through the hotel to ensure we were put in the recently upgraded rooms. We were in a King on the third floor (unfortunately it overlooked the back parking lot, not the atrium), but it was very nice. Beautiful colonial period furniture, spacious, clean and comfortable. The foot at both Scrimshaw's... more
