This is the best place to stay in Albany. I travel back and forth to Albany from Seattle. It is like coming home when I get to stay at the Desmond, I love the atmosphere, and the friendly service. I remember how excited my parents were when I was a child and it first opened, and now these many years... More

This lovely hotel has it all above others...EXCEPT...my room was exceptionally musty smelling. Thought I was sleeping with a wet dog all night, except that I couldn't sleep. Told the front desk in the morning and an agent did 'comp' me $25 toward my bill. Then I discovered that the hotel knew about this problem and has had others complain.... More

I went here for a private event and didn't get a chance to stay as long as I wanted to as I had to entertain family the next week. I would say hands down this is the only hotel I would stay at in albany and without seeing all the bed and breakfasts in albany I would also say this... More

The center of the hotel is made to look like a large town square with fountains and trees but is roofed and comfortable. Sitting there and reading a book enjoying the fountain was worth the stay all by itself. The decor in the expensive restaurant is reminiscent of an exclusive club and a great place for a drink (we didn't... More

There were delays in check-in, but overall, no known errors in reservations. Waiting in long lines is never a good way to start a stay. Resolving questions earlier could have resolved some unexpected issues. Overall, the hotel is still by far more interesting than many in the area and have facilities open after 11PM.

Front desk staff have no concept of helpfullness and simply do not care about the guest experience. Such a lack of training casts a pall over the entire stay. One staff member helped the person behind me in line. When I asked her why she bumped me she admitted it happens all the time. When I asked why there are... More

What a surprise, very nice décor, not your standard hotel look, and an excellent bar and restaurant. Very close to Albany Airport with a shuttle and arrivals/departures board at front desk. Would not go any where else again

Food is pricey. And one thing I do not understand is why do they put the Coffee and Coffee makers in the bathroom? That part is not good. I hesitate to ingest food and drink that is stored in a bathroom.

I stayed here as part of a travel group for the Baseball Hall of Fame induction weekend. Room was comfortable and clean and I have no complaints there. The layout of the hotel left a lot to me desired. From the front desk, you cross through an indoor courtyard with a koi pond fountain. While it is lovely, it was... More

At first glance this is a quaint hotel with easy access to the Saratoga area. Rooms were average, a little pricier than comparable level chains in the area with fewer amenities. Room was a little musty with leaking bathroom ceiling. Unfortunately, not as clean as it could be (bathroom walls very dirty upon check-in, still dirty after housekeeping in on... More
