This La Quintana is newer than some and the rooms are nice, comfortable bed, and a nice size There is no grass for dogs but did find some at the hotel next door that we used. Breakfast is the usual eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal etc.

We requested soft pillows because the ones provided were too hard. To our disappointment, they said everyone in the hotel had the same pillows. There was no option. They didn't even have some spare soft pillows. That was also hard... to believe. So if you are staying here, you better take your own pillow. No kidding. Or buy them at... More

This motel is a good stepping off point for a visit to Carlsbad Caverns. It's new and quite nice and costs half what an equivalent motel would cost in the town of Carlsbad. It's worth the extra 30 miles of driving.

My first stay at the spanking new La Quinta in Artesia was just fine, no issues, but the second time was a big disappointment. Top on the list: it's not ready for business travelers yet. The internet didn't work in my room nor in my colleague's room. If I hadn't brought along a portable hotspot, my work would have suffered.... More

Artesia is much like Midland, TX - there's not much there, but the oil business is booming so there are a ton of workers from out of town that are staying in all of the hotels in town. The La Quinta is brand new (I believe it had been open for a month when I got there) and therefore looks... More

Overall, I enjoyed my stay of a number of nights at the La Quinta in a town where there are truly not many options available. The staff was exceptional, the breakfast was great, and the hotel definitely felt "new," but there were also not ENOUGH staff and there were problems with the operation of some of the amenities and the... This new hotel in Artesia is absolutely wonderful. While there were still some small things to be worked out (Do Not Disturb signs hadn't arrived yet), the hotel overall is a great place. The staff was exceptionally friendly and gave great service.

My family and I drove 12 hours and when we finally arrived we had nothing but problems. I had to wait over 20 minutes to check-in. When I was finally able to check-in the girl behind the counter got frustrated with the system and started cussing. We then proceeded to our room and it was disgusting. The microwave was filthy.... The brand new La Quinta in Artesia is the place to stay. Welcoming staff, beautiful interior, spotless rooms, very good breakfast and "pet friendly". I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Pecos Valley area.
