Amu was super sweet. We arrived late and he accommodated us. But you be on time!! The snowmansion is so warm and inviting.. fires, communal kitchens, love, books, blankets, a lodge of lodges. Definitely going back.

If you are looking for a sweet local spot to stay with a clean bed and clean bathroom, friendly folks, and a bit of adventure, look no further than the Snowmansion. My family of 4 stayed there for 6 days with my sister's family of 4 in one of the larger rooms. We sincerely enjoyed our time there and took... More

Having no idea what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised with how welcoming and accommodating the hostel was. During my stay, staff were inspired to prepare food using much that was grown in the huge mutli-acre organic garden, and were kind enough to share with guests. Campers/backpackers were welcome as there's space to pitch tents. Inside, the communal area offered... More

I loved my stay at the snow mansion. The people and experience was nothing but positive. The stay was welcoming and cozy and had huge plot of land with a learning garden. The location to the city and slopes is incredible as it is 15 minutes to downtown Taos and 15 minutes up the mountain to ski. Tucked in a... More

We stayed in the hostel for a night and had to leave because every noise made can be heard in every room. The cars on the freeway can be heard. The person snoring above you can be heard. The public bathrooms and very gross and the private ones aren't much cleaner.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. That you call the little country road that we are on – a freeway - indicates that you may be hyper-sensitive to noise. We are located on a country road and cars and car noise after 10 pm and before 8 am are few and far between. That said, you bring up some... More

The first thing is.... that I ended up here... accidentally with my dog. I took off....you know the kind of travel only a train wreck of a relationship or taking Japanese in College with too many other classes might inspire!? Well, in my case it was both. I have been coming to the SnowMansion or SNOW HOLE as I affectionally... More

I have been coming to the Snow Mansion since early 2001. Every visit it gets better and better. The inside is an art gallery. Its warm and friendly. Lots of interesting international people. My favorite was the amazing meals that I was lucky to be there for. Most of ingredients was grown right there in their organic garden. Highly recommend... More

I loved this place! I have stayed at a lot of hostels, and this was definitely one of my favorites. The atmosphere is very laid back welcoming. The staff are extremely friendly. The room was small, but no complaints for the price. I slept very well. The location is pretty perfect, half way between town and the ski resort. Will... More

This is one of my favorite places for an affordable ski vacation. The Snowmansion itself is a good 20 minutes closer to the slopes than downtown Taos, a bonus for those like me who want to get in early runs but can't afford to stay up at the base of the mountain. As a female who travels alone often, I... More
