We loved our stay at the Akkotel, We wanted to view the old city and this was the best place to lay our heads. We had our family of 5, which included 3 young teenagers and my husbands parents. The service was top notch from the minute we walked in the door, the lovely woman manager could not do enough... more

Dad and I stayed in the Akkotel Nov 26th, 2009. (I'm 29, he's 60.) It was fantastic---fantastic for the money and fantastic overall. It's conveniently located in the Old City, near the port and near an access ramp for the ramparts walk on the old city wall. The building is historic and cleanly restored. The proprietor helped us find attractions... more

First, Acre, or Akko (most places in Israel have at least two spellings), is not as near to Haifa as it looks on the map. It's at least an hour drive. The old part of the city, surrounded by a wall, is where Akkotel is located. In fact, the hotel has literally been built into the wall, so that one... more

The rooms are beautiful. The staff is pleasant and very helpful. A good value for the money. This is really the only show in town for elegant accommodations in the old city of Akko. It even managed to fit in 7 parking spaces to help out if you arrive in a car. We did have problems connecting to their internet... more

I can confidently state that this is the best hotel I stayed in. It's a world class in architecture and design. Tastefully renovated, with careful attention to the smallest details. One feels transferred in time and place. Cleanliness is superb. Run by a local family, who is both friendly and hospitable. Highly recommended. more

The hotel itself is a rehabbed building, and the owners did a wonderful job in preserving its character. The room was large (loft for our 17-yo daughter) and spotless. Everything seemed brand new. Friendly desk and restaurant staff. Fun to be so convenient to the old city. Felt very safe. I wished that we could've stayed there longer, but our... more

Excellent Hotel. Would highly recommend. The owner has done a beautiful job in restoring this antique building into a charming, modern, comfortable, and convenient place to stay. Located inside the Old City of Akko, but away from most of the noise. It is within easy walking distance of everything you want to see there. We had a great time in... more

A very nice hotel with a high standard of cleanliness set in the historic walls of Akko, a small and charming fishing port. A good location for the old town with free parking. more

We recently took a 2 week trip to Israel, and Akkotel was once of the best places we stayed. The owners took great pains to design and outstanding hotel - beautiful building, excellent details, all high quality, and they are extremely friendly and helpful and proud of their place. Food is excellent. Location, within the old walled city, is fantastic,... more
