This is more like a home away from home than a hotel or a resort. Three cooked meals a day and everyone eats together from all of the four bungalows. 1.5 hours of Yoga and meditation in the morning. No electricity except for four hours in the evening and no internet. Showers and toilets with buckets and ladles to flush... More

Via Vacare was one of the most unusual places we’ve stayed in our fairly extensive travels through Indonesia. We spent six nights there this June. I do recommend it, but it would definitely not suit everyone. I have also some advice that might improve travellers’ enjoyment of their stay. It feels strange writing this review. Staying at Via Vacare felt... More

This is the place to go if you don't mind the rustic and enjoy quiet places. The owner Jet was not there during our stay, but the cook and handyman was very nice and took good care of us. The bungalows are nice and airy but there is no water pressure, so you get a sea water bucket for the... More

This is one of those rare places that you serendipitously stumble on to and realize how fortunate you are to have found it. And you also wonder how long it will remain with the onslaught of development nearby. If you are a traveller that enjoys the solitude and serenity of an island -- quiet swims, amazing snorkelling, beautiful evenings, replenishing... More

Even though I stayed at via vacare at the end of January, I would still like to add my bit to what has been said already in other reviews. Obviously, this is a different resort. I got to know and connect with some lovely people including the owner called Jet. Due to the set-up of this small and remote place,... More

We had a wonderful time at Via Vacare. It was exactly what we were looking for: a place to get away from it all. We were able to completely disconnect from technology for a few nights and forget all the work and worries waiting for us back home and simply enjoy the present. Via Vacare is very small with just... Most amazing place! But only for those who appreciate the "simple" things in life (in a good way)! It is perfect to chill out and relax. The bungalows are very spacious and beautifully set up. But there is no running water... Which is the only negative point to this place (cause once in a while it is nice to have... More

I had visited Viavacare before and was very happy to go back with my family from Canada to spend Christmas there. We spent 5 nights there, and shared the 4 bungalows amongst ourselves and another couple of friends. Because of the intense rains, Lombok was flooded and we had a hard time reaching the resort (congratulations to driver Pak Demra... More

It was a pleasant stay for my gf and I. On the first night, I had a high fever and Jet (The Owner) was really helpful to make sure I was well taken care of. She prayed for me and dropped in to see if I was ok. The food was amazing and super yums, with a great set of... More

I and my wife have spent three nights in Via Vacare. We have had a wonderful stay. It's situated in a very quiet island, Gili Gede. It's directly on the beach, only some steps connect it to the shore. It's not a big beach, and surely not the best in the surroundings, but when there' s the low tide it's a... More
