We spent a week at Via Vicare. First you must promise not to touch the coral, stay a good distance from the turtles, and DONT feed the fish! That said, Via Vacare had excellent snorkeling right off the beach and a great trip to the other two islands as well. The spacious accommodations were exactly as described; basic but providing... The owner Jet offers a warm blend of western standards and rustic simplicity. The bungalows are well cared-for, clean and spacious and have full length opening windows and doors to allow air circulation, a sheltered day bed overlooking the other islands, mandi shower with fresh water. The main house is where you share meals with other guests, hang out and... More

We stayed there as a couple. We simply loved it. So quiet. The view is amazing. Nice to go with the wonderfull (Dutch/Indo) host Jet to the market on the shore by boat...food is good. the houses are adorable. My husband arrived ill and Jet was very helpfull. And the dukun of the nearby village gave a nice massage and blew... More

At Via Vacare on Gili Gede we had a really good time. We have been there for a few days and it was like walking slower with every new day, there is just no need to hurry or worry. We (a couple) stayed in the backpackersshelter and it was nice and clean. The food was just awesome, especially the dinner.... More

My daughter and me had been in via vaccare in August and spent 3 fantastic days there. Excellent the variety and taste of food, the sense of common mealtime. There had always been more than enough food for everybody. Via Vaccare is a very special place with a high standard of ecosensible acting. (That cannot mean having showers in the... More

ViaVacare is not eco at all. Honestly I dont understand why that word is used. There are 4 seperate bins to throw your different types of litter in. In the end all the rubbish goes into the same bag...the beaches are filled with rubbish and the place is completely run down. The food is vegetarian, which I don't mind, but... More

Dear guest, i am sorry to read your review and i am surprised too. I do no know who was your host at the time of stay? As far as i know all our guests love our food even many told me it was the best they had in Indonesia. At lunch time we often serve vegetarian as it can... More

I stayed at Via Vacare for 3 nights and 4 days and was very disappointed. This was not an "eco resort", but merely a resort with 1) minimal electricity (a generator turns on a few hours a day), 2) no running showers or clean water and 3) no flushing toilets. The website says there are white sandy beaches but the... More

This is more like a home away from home than a hotel or a resort. Three cooked meals a day and everyone eats together from all of the four bungalows. 1.5 hours of Yoga and meditation in the morning. No electricity except for four hours in the evening and no internet. Showers and toilets with buckets and ladles to flush... More

Via Vacare was one of the most unusual places we’ve stayed in our fairly extensive travels through Indonesia. We spent six nights there this June. I do recommend it, but it would definitely not suit everyone. I have also some advice that might improve travellers’ enjoyment of their stay. It feels strange writing this review. Staying at Via Vacare felt... More

This is the place to go if you don't mind the rustic and enjoy quiet places. The owner Jet was not there during our stay, but the cook and handyman was very nice and took good care of us. The bungalows are nice and airy but there is no water pressure, so you get a sea water bucket for the... More
