The good: 1. As some reviewers have mentioned, it does appear that the is the best there is in the area. 2. Staff were warm and very friendly 3. Room was decent: No fan or air cond but it was freezing when we were there so it was not a problem. Bed was comfortable, n had mosquito net covering. 4.... More

My husband and I liked this beautiful lodge with all the gorgeous green space & the river that flows nearby. We had a room where we could hear the river from and it was very soothing. We also trekked up the river in the rain. Was quite lovely. This lodge is about 15 minutes from Moni and also quite close... More

We wish to thank you for your report on our Kelimutu Crater Lakes Eco Lodge. You must have been in one of the rooms above the resturant. For those who wish their own verandah, it is best to book a cottage (we currently have five but are in the process of building 5 more). Thank you Management and staff of... More

We had dinner at the eco lodge when we were in moni and found it to be ok but extremely overpriced, we paid 150.000 pp excl 21 % tax for a basic menu option. The location and the service are fine , the basic food is just not worth that kind of money in our opinion.

Your report on our lodge is referred to. You only seem to have mentioned the food and yet have given us a low rating. Our evening "meal of the day" for Rp 150,000 is a three course meal with coffee. The menu offers local food as that is what most of clients wish. For less than US 15 this is... More

Pros: The location and proximity to the Kelimutu crater lakes. Lush greenery surrounding the Lodge. During the day, I enjoy chilling out on the balcony and just taking in the breeze. It is also nice to have breakfast with views of the rice fields. Cons: I did find that the washbasin is rather small and therefore difficult to use. The... More

Thank you for your report and your positive notes about our lodge. We apologise for your damp sheets and this has been reported to the manager. Also we acknowledge your complaint re the size of the hand basin. We are currently building 11 new rooms and the hand basins are much larger. We do actually have WiFi in the office... More

We overnighted at the peaceful Udayana eco-lodge, Denpasar and spent a quiet, beautiful day in the gardens watching butterflies - then to Flores. Our group of 7 had 2 nights at Kelimutu eco-lodge. It rained buckets on our arrival day, the sunrise over the crater lakes was clouded over so we set off later in the morning and were thrilled... More

We stayed at Kelimutu Eco Lodge for 1 night, really just to see the crater lakes. The grounds are beautiful and clearly a lot of thought has gone into the plants and vegetation, it is very lush and pretty. The rooms are quite small but clean, nice and comfortable. We stayed in a cottage, there appeared to be 5 of... More

Thank you for your comments and for emphasizing the vagaries of the weather and suggesting longer stays to obtain the full value of the lakes experience. It is a pity to travel far for only a few minutes in the clouds. The lakes on a clear dawn are magic. We regret we are unable to do anything bout your cost... More

Kelimutu Eco Lodge is about 15 minutes walk outside of Moni and set in the most beautiful setting amongst rice paddies and the countryside. We stayed in a room in the lodge, the room was quite small for the price (I think the cottages are bigger) but the decor was lovely and had everything we needed for a stay in... More

Thank you your report which is greatly appreciated. We understand your comments re size of the rooms in the main building and are currently building nine new rooms on land we have purchased which will be larger and more spacious; our solar energy system is also being expanded to hopefully cover most of our energy needs. Travelers should not expect much when travelling in Flores. There are only 2 decent hotels i.e. Kelimutu Crater Lakes Eco Lodge and Flores Sare. We arrive at around 8 pm but there were not many staff who could help us (17 persons) to carry our luggage to our rooms which were on the second floor. This hotel room rate was... More

We refer to your report. We certainly should have had persons to help you arrive at night and this will be reviewed with our managers. Our bungalow was very clean and the whole setting of the lodge is very nice. Breakfast was okay, but compared to what you get for dinner, a bit dissapointing. Highly recommended is Rita's (chef of Eco Lodge Restaurant) version of Moni-Cake. Also all the other dishes we tried were very nice. Eco Lodge is worth a stay if you like... More

Most visitors to this Ecolodge would be people wishing to visit Kelimutu. The rooms are clean and no complaints whatsoever, however, there is no free wifi and no wifi for that matter. If you need to be connected, I would suggest you get yourself a local SIM card and only Telkomsel provider will work there. I was on another provider... More

Ref your report, many of our guests come to Kelimutu because there is no internet. They relish the peace without it. Our manager is on line and guests are informed that messages can be sent in or out through his email at marianusbe@yahoo,com Shortly, we will have a telephone line into the village of Moni and things will change.
