We spent 5 nights at deli river at the end of our four weeks in North Sumatra. After a busy trip we wanted a peaceful four days laying by a pool eating good food and we had it all. The breakfast is fantastic with a lot of food. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful... More

In all my hundreds of trips in every continent except Antarctic I have never seen a staff that work so hard to please the customer. The owner of the hotel drove me on along to join a 2-hour Hash House Harrier fun run in some of Sumatra’s jungle (the sport originated in Kuala Lumpur, Malaya in late 1930s and has... More

We received an immediate answer from the Deli River hotel in Medan on our email inquiries for visiting some places I recall from my youth in the North of Sumatra. The programme via Tri Jaya Tour and Travel looked perfect so we decided to come for a few days (were visiting family in Singapore). The driver Deddy picked us from... More

The story was as follows. Guest Mr. Kembaren came to our hotel at 16.00 and stayed until 18.30. Our staff answered his questions and remarks politely and friendly. He wanted to book a certain room and the guest changed his mind and he wanted to book another type of room. Shortly after this, he wanted to book a room for... More

The hotel is a little bit out of the centre of Medan. Unless you really want to be in the city the location is fine. There is a village with a few shops and laundry so not as isolated as some of the reviews would lead you to believe. The rooms are very clean with A/C and hot showers. The... More

Hotel Deli River is an excellent hotel to rest and start or end your journey in North Sumatra. Very clean, steaming hot shower, beautiful restaurant and helpful staff. Not far from Medan city to take in the palace, mosque and busy square. Nice relaxing pool, breakfast very good with a range of fruits, pastries and toast. Dinner was good and... More

Deli River is clean, green and relatively calm. My room was ok but there was no bathtub and had only a basic bathroom. There was a tv but only with local channels sadly. The wifi was fine and relatively fast. Since there is absolutely nothing around but a dirty and noisy street, guests must eat in the restaurant. The dishes... More

The location of Hotel Deli River is the nearest place to Medan with a view of the Sumatran tropical jungle. Our rooms are set in a tropical garden and it takes around 40 minutes by car to the city centre. We have rooms with and without bathtub, all our Honeymoon Rooms have bathtubs and some of our Deluxe Cottages have... More

The Hotel Deli River is as lovely and peaceful an oasis as one could ask for, masterfully created amidst the bustle of suburban Medan. With an excellent restaurant, an established touring company, an extensive and beautiful tropical garden, a lovely swimming pool, and a crew of well trained staff, the family run Hotel Deli River offers everything you need with... Overall this is a very clean and well run hotel with beautifully maintained gardens but it's location is isolated. The street outside is very busy and dirty with not much on it except for a convenience store or two. It's not walking distance or an easy commute to the more central areas of Medan. It is also about an hour... More
