Our stay on Gangga Island was fantastic, Gaspare and the staff at the resort could not do enough for us throughout the holiday. Jan and Henrietta the resort instructors and Dolfie our dive guide were fab but it seems unfair to name three individuals when everyone working there was so professional friendly, helpful and accommodating. Every dive site we asked... more

Gangga island seem like paradise at first site but unfortunately the experience will come short of most people expectation specially if people come from diving or relax. If the hotel is quite ok beside some issue with the room equipment which seem to fail on a daily basis (air condition and hot water). They sell to family so when we... more

It was fun getting to Gangga winding up through the villages, seeing how they mine gold, and down through tropical vegetation to the sea, then by boat to Gangga. We were pleased to find the beachfront chalets very beautiful, decorated in fine detail, with natural stone and wood, but not too dark like ohter resorts in North Sulawesi. Paths wind... more

I am a very demanding traveller with tastes that run to Amanresorts, Banyan Tree, Four Seasons, etc. I have been to Gangga Island Resort (GIR) seven or eight times and have not been disappointed in any way. Like another reviewer I am prompted to write this belated review by the negative comments of Zeus697. Roaches - never. Generators that switch... more

Very tardy in writing, but I saw the negative review and felt compelled to write. We live in Singapore and the three of us (16 yr old son) spent 5 wonderful days there. Main pts are: #The chalet room was excellent. With lots of hot water and good AC. #Very friendly staff and good dive center #Food was good -... more

We sampled the best resorts in North Sulawesi in 2007. Gangga was so good, we decided to return for two weeks in 2008. I read Zeus697s very negative review, yet find little in it I recognize from two stays at Gangga. Our experiences there are in line with the other reviews posted here: thoroughly positive. My wife and I travel... more

We had an idea of what to expect from this resort - nothing fancy - but my God! We were very disappointed wtih the way things were run. Power cut in the morning, afternoon and midnight as they swapped over to different generators. I suspect that the air conditions were programmed as such so that when the power came back... more

Lovely place off the beaten track - very undiscovered still by Americans - we were the only ones there that week. The Manager is a gem - Hanne; the diving and guides are fantastic and the food - oh my !! - and the spa!! I could rave for weeks about this place. Only minus is the bungalows - need... more

My wife and I were in Manado looking for a nice resort with a beach and stumbled on this fantastic island resort. Service was great as were the bungalows. The dive operation is first class and run by some very good and competent divers. Great guys with excellant personalities. I would recommened it to anybody going to Manado looking for... more

My husband and l stayed 5 nights in May 2007. The resort is very peaceful and the staff was very polite. The resort service was excelent. Food of very good quality and the Chef is available for possible requests. Cocktails are good and very cheap (comparing to usual holiday resorts). One evening the staff arranged a BBQ around the pool.... more
