We only stayed in this hotel for one night as we have booked other hotel in makassar after visiting Bunaken island. We took a cottage view to the sea and it is really nice although the reception gave us a cottage is just next to their bar on the sea that plays music bit loud in the evening that we... More

we only spent two nights here when going to and from Toraja. the hotel is in the centre, with nice pool and a bar above the sea. we were staying in rooms, which are very dated and not very clean, so better if you opt for cottages that seemed in better shape. the breakfast was ok, staff is friendly and... We spent 2 nights there. Our bungalow was on the side looking over the sea and the nearby new high rise building under construction, a messy view there. The bed was clean, the bathroom too. But walking bear feet, the bedroom floor was not dustless. The decoration includes a lot of wood. The room is spacy. Small terrace, quite ok... More

We arrived late at night and the staff were very accommodating. Food was a little more expensive then other places, however good quality and a lot of western items. The rooms/cabins were a bit dated but lovely. It had a wonderful sunset view from both the sunset bar and the rooms on the water.

The Pantai Gapura hotel is a nice equiped hotel with very friendly staff. The food and drinks in the hotel is average but compared to other (comparable) hotels extremely expensive upto 3x the price we paid elsewhere. We stayed a night in this hotel when arriving on Sulawesi and once more a night before we left the island. The accomadation... More

The hotel was ok. The bed was good and it was silent so we slept well. The staff was friendly. The food in the restaurant was not very good, and nonetheless quite expensive (and, contrary to the description in LP, there is no sunset view). There is a pool, but the high-rise under construction next to it makes it a... More

Overall hotell is a very pleasant place to stay - particularly for first night in Sulawesi. Well maintained gardens, good food and attractive swimming pool. We stayed in main part of hotel - rooms spacious clean and comfortable but not looking tired, ill maintained and in need to renovation - showing its age. Bathrooms were clean but looked grubby. Breakfast... More

This was not my first visit to this property, but I was really disappointed this time around, by price vs quality and some lack of concern by the administrative staff. First the good things-- the hotel grounds are nice, in a balinese style and offer a nice area to walk and relax. The security in front is good and pleasant,... More

This hotel serves you the cottage rooms above the sea. All furniture made from woods. You can enjoy the beach view in the corner edges. For the meal times, served in the phinisi restaurant which designed like a voyage. Also you can take a walk outside to buy souvenirs because it ain't hard to reach.

Makassar isn't exactly a place with an abundance of quality accommodation. Pantai Gapura is therefor probably one of the better options in town. Nevertheless, it's a very average hotel and value-for-money wise it's expensive. We had two bungalows at the waterfront, with great views over the water and a nice sunset. The bungalows look great on the outside but the... More
