I loved this place! We stayed there with a little group of friends (10 of us) There is nothing to do over there but snorkeling, hang out, play cards, take some sun, eat pretty good food and drink!! The accommodation are very very basic, nothing fancy but wood houses, a mattress on the floor with a mosquito net. and a... More

First things first DO NOT STAY HERE! I will say nothing against the actual place, which is a lovely isolated beach shack, exactly as described, although a fair distance from any ferry port on the Island. Our problem came from the absolute shocking behavior of the owner throughout our stay. We were four young girls travelling during the slow season... More

I visited Shady Shack during Easter weekend. The Accommodation reflected what the name advertised. They were indeed shacks, that reminded of simpler times. The humble wooden huts on the beach served as shade from the burning heat during the day. http://passportonthetable.blogspot.sg/2015/04/shady-shacks-bintan.html

We were hoping to get out of Jakarta and relax on some beautiful beaches, unfortunately they don't seem to Exist! We went all along Tri kora searching but all were rubbish filled. The Shady Shack is very tucked away and you could easily drive past it. There is very little to see on this side of the island. Our hut... More

I visited Shady Shack last weekend with much of the same apprehension that your usual born and raised in the urban city environment type of girl would have. This bring-your-own-toilet paper compound not only exceeded my expectations, but proved to be one of the most memorable weekend getaways I have ever had. The shacks are absolutely charming and are all... More

Stayed a night only because most places were fully booked for Saturday night. Mattress was moldy and you could feel all the bed springs. Bedsheets were super thin. Pillows were lumpy. No blankets were provided. Toilet bowl was dark brown, no toilet paper provided unless you requested. No flush. No sink for washing. If you brush your teeth, you need... More

Our group of 5 cyclists enjoyed our overnight stop here after feeling quite shacked riding from Tg Uban. Balmy breezes, nice water, quiet beach, friendly staff and decent food. Depending on your preferences, the wooden attap huts can be very quaint and cosy, sleeping in moz net with sound of waves crashing giving you the full Robinson crusoe experience. Or... More

So these huts are shacks and they might look a bit shady, but Perfectly fine for a nice simple stay directly on the seafront. There are bathrooms in the hut with cold water for a shower and toilet works by shoveling water in with a bucket after use. There's a restaurant on site with staple meals. For some added variety,... If you are up for a pleasant but basic hotel, this is the place. It has an excellent location right on the beach. There is a good restaurant a the hotel, plus some others nearby. It is relaxing and refreshing to just hang out there. It is a basic hotel. Bring your own towel, soap, perhaps a light blanket, etc.... More

Positives first: Lovely staff, the owner Lobo and his family were very welcoming and even invited us to share their Hari Raya feast. Beautiful beachfront location, all shacks look out onto the beach which even at low tide is accessible. There are two floating platforms for use at either end of the beach. You can walk 50-100m down the beach... More
