Do you want to spend all your money on a marvelous earth treasure? You can spend a big chunk of money here but you will not find the reason why? Food is average, beverage is well overpriced. How about a plain veuve Clicquot for 280 USD or a 10$ wine sold for over 80$. And what about the kitchen? A... More

My wife and I had a very pleasant four nights at the Banyan Tree on our recent holidays. We were treated very well by the friendly staff from the moment we were met at the ferry terminal until we returned. The concierge and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful in making our stay memorable. We stayed in a Seaview... More

I will come back to Bintan (might try the Banyan Tree's sister property, Angsana, next time though). I had no idea such a beautiful, calm beach was this close to Singapore. We loved the Banyan Tree Bintan, but it is not cheap! We booked a one bedroom pool villa and a Sea Front villa (for our daughter and my mother-in-law).... More

I would highly recommend those looking for a wonderful experience at Bintan to stay at Banyan Tree. It is very exclusive and the staff really go an extra mile to make your stay as memorable as possible. For myself, I went there for a post birthday celebration and we were surprised with a birthday cake and a beautiful flower arrangement... More

We stayed for 3 nights last week and enjoyed our stay immensely. It was the staff's passion for service that made this stay so enjoyable. Nothing was ever a problem and there were the small added touches, whether it was the turn-down gift each night, the friendly hello as you walked past, or the cook-to-order eggs each morning. The villas,... More

My second visit here, the last 8 years ago and I wasn't disappointed. Our 1 bed pool villa was huge with separate living and sleeping huts, several bathroom options and numerous relax spaces. There was a lovely outdoor dining area as well as a beautiful infinity pool with breathtaking views across the straits. The villa came with a pantry and... More

Stayed at the resort for 3 nights and the service level has been immaculate! Wherever you go, you will be greeted by the staff members without fail, and as a guest at the resort, you would feel valued! The only downside has been the mosquitoes, if you are not careful, you could potentially be bitten during the night time, but... More

Make no misstake this is an excellent hotel in a beuatiful location. The villas (ours was a 2 bedroom pool villa) are very spacious and well appointed and the infinity pool is a respectable size. Despite being located in a jungle everything possible is done to keep the bugs down and very effective it is too. The accomodation is spread... More

We arrived from Singapore on a long weekend looking for a quiet getaway with our 6 month old in tow. Banyan Tree arranges a pickup from the ferry terminal. The first vehicle we are loaded into doesn't start, but a 2nd car materialises immediately and we are ushered in. We have requested an infant car seat, which is on hand,... More

Dear PaulogSandie, Let me firstly thank you for pointing out how stunning the view from your villa was. Banyan Tree Bintan has unique landscape setting that allows the picturesque South China Sea in all the villas. A local fishermen village and the traditional Balinese style was an inspiration behind the resort design, which pick up the rustic charm thus make... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Close to Singapore lies a sweep of brilliant Indonesian islands, the most spectacular of which are found in the Riau Archipelago. Bintan Island has long been one of the region's most popular destinations. Banyan Tree Bintan occupies 240 hectares on the sea front and is comprised of 72 villas modeled on traditional Balinese architecture, all beautifully located in virgin forest. The resort's Jacuzzi villas have jacuzzis built into their sun decks whilst the two-bedroom pool villas have their own plunge or swimming pools and are particularly suitable for families. Culinary variety is the name of the game with "Crossroads" offering Western cuisine in an air-conditioned or al fresco setting while the Saffron Restaurant serves Thai and South East Asian specialties. You can also dine in your own villa - simply order from the a la carte menu or make a selection from the BBQ dinners cooked in front of your eyes. The new food and beverage outlet, "The Cove," is modern and up-tempo; Mediterranean cuisine is prepared here to perfection. ... more   less
