My father and I stayed one night in Roemahkoe hotel. The hotel is an old colonial building, we liked the ambiance very much. We were also very satisfied with the personal attention of the staff. We would like to go back if we were in Solo again!

This is our standard destination when we go to Solo. There is so much that is good about it: fantastic atmosphere, great staff. But it is not cheap, and it would be good if some of the income was being used to maintain the quality. Bedding is now very worn; the drains need some serious attention, and there are some... More

'Roemahkoe' means my house written in an old way of Indonesia language. I felt feeling staying in a great grandparent's house. Very cozy and warm. The hotel management keeps the building as the one used to be belong to 'juragan batik'. Staffs were friendly and helpful. For the guest who likes an antique, small and cozy place to stay; 'Roemahkoe'... More

I stayed here two nights in the suite, which I found very nice. A very comfortable bed, slept great. The place is a little way out of the way, but it's a beautiful hotel. I would recommend staying here.

We had a very relaxing stay in this hotel in a Javanese city known for batik. the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They took care of our requests brilliantly. Restaurant is quite good and there is a gamelan orchestra to enhance dining experience. Public rooms have Javanese antiques, family history of original owner, and all accommodation is surrounded by... More

After an 11 hour car trip from Bandung to Solo, I arrived late in the evening to the hotel. The staff already prepared the lovely room and sent me a welcome drink. It was a good night sleep. The next morning I met Andrini, the general manager who took care of the tour in town and arranged a visit to... More

Roemahkoe is the lovely Art Deco former home of a Javanese batik merchant. The general manager, Ibu Andrini, was tremendously helpful, solicitous of every need, gracious and very smart. Her staff is cheerful and responsive. As in most Indonesian homes, bedrooms are not terribly large, but well-insulated from street noise, which can be an issue in many city hotels or... More

We really recommend this friendly , small hotel where you feel at home from the very first minute! The lady of the house pampers her guests with a personal welcome. We appreciated the welcome tea with lovely "fried pisang" Although we read some negative comments on the restaurant , we had a wonderful diner. Good place to stay in Solo!

Sterling atmosphere and worth seeing for Art Deco architecture alone. Water feature flows around inside of hotel. Friendly staff. Rooms are adequate--on the small side but functional. Unfortunately, the dining room does not measure up to that standard. Most dishes were bland, a featured stir fry beef was watery and tasteless. Solo salad was absolutely plain. So try somewhere else... More

this hotel was discovered by my partner on You tube. He perused the site and subsequently we booked a 3 night stay online. It was a very nice experience. The staff, service, décor and food were all very appropriate. Yes, the hotel was quite empty of guests when we stayed there in Feb 2014. we appreciated the historic colonial art... More
