This is a very nice hotel in the middle of Solo Central Java. The building is a very old house yet in perfect condition. Upon arrival you will immediately feel the traditional atmosphere especially when you enter their well decorated rooms. The only annoying thing we experienced were the mosquitos, but the staff was kind to provide anti mosquitos spray

Stayed here for two nights & loved the place. Yes the rooms are small - but it is an amazing hotel. The hotel was quiet - but there were dinner guests on both nights during our stay. TV with extensive channels including BBC World, kettle - consider bringing your own tea bags for any trip to Indonesia. Staff very pleasant... More

Great hotel with lots of ambiance. Lots of wood and stained glass. Great room, window opens up to the courtyard, so I kept it closed. Possiblity to sit in fornt of your own room or anywhre else in the courtyard. Great restaurant. A little bit out of the center.Very friendly staff, excellent service. Maybe because of the ramadan it wasnt... More

I had another pleasant stay again. It was a full house. The staff members were all helpful and polite but the G.M. Andrini was not there, so it lacks a family feel. I hope she will be in good health again and return.

The hotel build in 1938 by rich Batik merchant is in the classic art deco Amsterdam style was orginally also a batik factory and restored in 2000. Lovely ambience with old style furnished rooms. We came to eat at the restaurant and a top class Indonesian meal. Note no wine.

My husband and I together with couple of friends stayed for 2 nights at Roemahku Heritage Hotel in April 2015. We enjoyed the experiences staying there. It was a batik merchant house back from the colonial time and you can tell that the hotel preserves it well. In fact, you can stay at the master room, with the old bed... More

The hotel itself is charming, but the rooms are very small and only have windows facing the indoor courtyard (so one tends to keep the shutters closed). So rooms themselves are not someplace one wants to spend any real time in except to sleep, but the hotel itself is very original and has lots of charm. Food is also good... More

This place certainly had the WOW factor and I loved Room 109, which had a separate sitting room, though I have to admit I didn't use it much, as I preferred to sit on the porch outside my room to read, chat and just enjoy the ambience and the sound of "falling water"- another nod to Lloyd Wright. (Another reason... More

This is an old residence which has been renovated into a small hotel. The rooms open out onto an inner courtyard. That plus the stained lass windows and the dark wood makes for a dark interior. However, the rooms are clean, the AC works, the linens are nice. The water flowing in the courtyard blocks out the street noise, so it... More

Very beautiful old building, very "tempo doeloe" (colonial). The former house of a Chinese batik producer, complete with the period furnishings. The room was a bit dark tough and smelt like moth balls, which I tracked down in the bathroom and flushed down the loo. Solved the problem partly. Nice restaurant and friendly staff. There is a small batik workshop... More
