My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights and had the best time. The hotel is practically a museum with an amazing collection of indonesian antiques. The rooms were unique and spa lovely but the real draw is the service. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bromo. The hotel... more

Frankly I stayed in Tugu because a lot of people spoke highly of this hotel and it is indeed the best hotel in Malang. I have to compliment the staff who met all our needs and even made special arrangements to pack our breakfast when we wanted to visit Mt Bromo. The standard room was small. Very small for a... more

This Hotel is quite charming and still the best in town. It's almost a museum. Some fine antiques, artwork. But lots of "kitsch" too. Food is fine. So is the service. But the problem is that the owners should have invested more in upgrading the rooms. They are "old" in many aspects (bathroom fixtures, cheap furniture, faded colours and fabrics... more

Loved it ! So much character and love has gone into it. Stunning art and antiques, very warm welcome, great room and after staying in several other cheaper hotels in town would also say ....its the only choice. The other 3 we saw/stayed in were poor although of course, cheaper.I was lucky enough to get a tour around the hotel by the concierge... more

Tugu Hotel is great for antique lovers. The downstairs rooms are decorated in different styles and the chinese rooms have come straight out of a fairytale. Especially at night with the lighting the atmosphere is very romantic. I stayed at this hotel for one night and had lunch at the restaurant near the pool (freezing cold by the way) where... more

The hotel is fabulous. Our standard room was luxurious, but what was most interesting is that the hotel is filled with antiques and could be described as a museum. In the gift shop only about half of the items are for sale. The rest are display pieces. There are entire rooms that seem to have no purpose other than to... more

I stayed 1 night at the Tugu Hotel in Malang. The hotel service is superfriendly and good at English. The location was excellent, right in the city centre of Malang. Food at the restaurant was average and pretty much focussed on overseas travellers. Better local food can be found at other restaurants at a cheaper price. The spa was amazing... more

This is another great Tugu hotel. Maybe not as nice as the one in Blitar just because the rooms are a bit smaller, but still the service and value are exceptional. The food in the3 restaurant is devine and tastes about as good as any Indonesian food I have ever had, If the room had been a little larger and... more

Stayed at the Tugu Malang for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon tour of Indonesia. We were blown away by this hotel. We booked the "Exploring Nature" package in the Honey Moon Suite. The package included a trip to Mount Bromo, a tea plantation and a deserted white sand beach (watch out for the stones in the sea though)... more

more of a museum than a hotel - quite amazing. even if you don't choose to stay here (although I don't know why you wouldn't) definitely go visit it - should be the highlight of any visit to malang. note: the restaurant is mediocre, but there's plenty to eat outside. more
