We got an economic room at 125000 Rp, so it was economic (we don't know the AC room). was not the best value that we had in 6 months trip for an economic room, but it's a room. no windows, no good moskito net, not really quiet and clean (and just traditionnal toilet shower, whithout sink to brush your teeth).... I was shown a room that was dark, dingy and smelly and 160 K IDR though the entry is attractive enough and receptionist spoke English. My budget is 200 K IDR so wasn't interested in air con rooms which may have been better

I stayed with friends for 5 days. Jonas has clean bathroom (which I believe lady would prefer) and exhaused fan in each bathroom. They provided hot water also. The room prize was in various range per night. I had IDR 75k/night with air conditioner They also provide the one with fan only. The owner is friendly old lady. Not talk... More

I and 3 others booked a tour to Bromo (volcano) and Ijen Plateau (sulphur mine) with Jonas Homestay. This was supposed to include transport to both locations, overnighting in a homestay next to a plantation (that is, not in a town but the countryside) and guide both for Bromo and Ijen. I was then to return to Malang and stay... More

Though located in a quiet and nice ex colonial street, we wouldn't recommend Jonas Homestay. We really had the feeling of being ripped off by the owner (an elder lady speaking good English). We booked a triple room with bathroom inside. It turned out to be outside the room and without key (but we were told it was private and we... More

Very helpful, informative about anything I like to know about Malang and a lots of warm discussion which made me feel so comfortable... More

It's really a homestay, family going in and out. Yes it's a cheap place and the conditions are not as a 4 star hotel but it's really authentic. You're feeling that you are living in a local family. We saw a preparation for a wedding with a lot of guest there. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Most of them... More

We stayed here for two nights when visiting Malang. We came here on a recommendation in the Lonely Planet, which said it was great value for money. We did not find it to be that. It is set in a rather luxourious street just outside Malang city centre. The building itself is an old colonial villa, which must at one... More

Homestay in a posh area and close to the centre. Quiet, friendly, clean and secure. They can arrange the tour to Bromo. We paid 600.000 for one 2 people.
