We booked private Bromo trip with Jonas homestay for competetive price. Not sunrise to avoid crowd. I would not rate the trip so low as agenda was ok and driver spoke English well. BUT ticket for park entrance which is not cheap at all (350.000 ipr per person for weekend) was not paid to park and went to driver pocket.... More

Nice cozy area. Convenience store is just 5mins walk, 10mins by becak(3cycle traditional cart) to Malang train station. The staff are so friendly, and helpful. They also can help you to arrange tour to Mount Bromo, Sempu Island, etc. you can rent motorbike and bicycle too... In affordable price. I stayed here in economic room for rp 85.000, public toilet, exhaust... More

Good staff and tours( try the Bromo one with excellent car and driver) If i were the owner i would refurbish and redecorate one room a year.... They are worn out and not confortable. Price in keeping though. The place is quiet far from Malang's hub and terrible traffic so i would strongly recommend some investment in the rooms...

We stay here for 2nights. First day, we have to pay idr 100 thousands for the cheapest room, size 2x2,5metres with TV and exhaus fan, outside bathroom, with playwood partition. So we can listen what other room said :) Second day, we top up our room into better room, with a solid wall. We paid about idr 115 thousand. The... More

We got an economic room at 125000 Rp, so it was economic (we don't know the AC room). was not the best value that we had in 6 months trip for an economic room, but it's a room. no windows, no good moskito net, not really quiet and clean (and just traditionnal toilet shower, whithout sink to brush your teeth).... I was shown a room that was dark, dingy and smelly and 160 K IDR though the entry is attractive enough and receptionist spoke English. My budget is 200 K IDR so wasn't interested in air con rooms which may have been better

I stayed with friends for 5 days. Jonas has clean bathroom (which I believe lady would prefer) and exhaused fan in each bathroom. They provided hot water also. The room prize was in various range per night. I had IDR 75k/night with air conditioner They also provide the one with fan only. The owner is friendly old lady. Not talk... More

I and 3 others booked a tour to Bromo (volcano) and Ijen Plateau (sulphur mine) with Jonas Homestay. This was supposed to include transport to both locations, overnighting in a homestay next to a plantation (that is, not in a town but the countryside) and guide both for Bromo and Ijen. I was then to return to Malang and stay... More

Though located in a quiet and nice ex colonial street, we wouldn't recommend Jonas Homestay. We really had the feeling of being ripped off by the owner (an elder lady speaking good English). We booked a triple room with bathroom inside. It turned out to be outside the room and without key (but we were told it was private and we... More
