Everything about this hotel was really nice - pool area, reception area, the rooms and the service. The only concern I would have is for those who may be challenged by a short winding staircase to some of the rooms. Breakfast was good and tea and coffee making facilities in the room were most appreciated. I hope to travel back... More

The staff are very nice n' charming. Very helpful reception and welcome us with a big smile. We got room on the 2nd floor, the stair is difficult to specially if we bring our own luggage. The room is an old room, small bathroom and we have to wait for the hot water. There was live. Music at the cafe... More

It had been a while since my last visit to the city and the receptionist still remembered my name and greeted me with smile, and allowed me for a very early (6 am) check in with no extra charge. I used to stay at the deluxe room, but this time was booked at the superior room. The room is still... More

Went back to my hometown of Malang after 19 years and made the decision to base myself at Graha Cakra. They're selling themselves as a 'traditional hotel', from the old days of colonial Malang, and you can definitely see the history in all corners of the hotel. From the vintage becak and Mercedes parked up front, the BMW motorcycles on... More

The "colonial" pit helmet worn by the reception porter said it all. Calm everywhere with warm service in every quarter. Restaurant somewhat "dull" and breakfast options surprisingly limited - even Indonesian options. Dinner menu also somewhat limited but very good value - even the beer prices!

The Graha Cakra was one of the nicest hotels we stayed during our trip throughout Java. It had the charme and style of an old grand hotel, with nice rooms and a good pool area. During our stay, the restaurant was occupied by an anniversary party, so dinner for the individual guests was served at the pool side (very nice!)... More

Nice hotel with small swimming pool in the center of Malang. Great place to be. The restaurant is good, great choice and good food. Try the Thai soup if you like spicy. Tom gung yun. Rooms Also have that historic atmosphere. Staff is friendly and helpfull. It's a short walk to the market.

Stayed one night. Nice character to the hotel but needs upgrading. The reception area was very small and if one is with a small family it would tend to appear "over-crowded". The staff on duty were very friendly and checking in was fast. Got a non-smoking room on the ground floor just across the corridor from the restaurant and next... More

Stayed here one day. You can see the hotel had a nice history and probably once was one of the better places in Malang, but it really needs a bit of upgrading now. The rooms look dated and a paint job is in order. There is no wifi in the rooms, only in the restaurant. The breakfast was average -... More
