Third time here. It wasn't great the first couple of times but this time was just unacceptable. Arrived past midnight so too late and tired to do anything about it. Room was very dark and dingy. Two windows onto a closed ground floor balcony with no natural light. Very depressing. No running water in bathroom sink. Breakfast following morning was... More

Bumi Sawunggaling has enormous potential, and I hope it gets renovated to some of its former glory. It's a beautiful, historic colonial building now owned by the ITB university. We had a large, spacious room with high ceilings, a large terrace patio, and an elegant four-poster bed. The main problem was with the bathroom, which was barely functional. The toilet... More

Maybe we got a horrific room, but even in the context of mid-range Indonesian accomodation.....this place is pretty bad. As you enter the lobby area you feel the place might have some merit; high ceilings and colonial structure. However as soon as we entered our room (first floor) - things only became worse. The room was terribly lighted; real dark... More

Don't stay in this hotel. Our camera bag with camera and foto equipment was stolen from our room, also money from handbag. It likely happend while we had breakfast or in the middle of the night someone sneaked in (how creepy!)! So IT'S NOT SAFE here! It might have been the staff or other guest (most of them budget class... More

An old building which will need some cosmetics inside quite soon. Our room on the ground floor did not have double glazing and I am not a fan of motorbikes with holes in the silencer, par for the course in Bandung and this is a city centre hotel. All staff were very helpful. The restaurant food is good and reasonably... More

The hotel room is average. But the staff makes it worth it.Stayed for 4 nights and from the 1st day step in, you can feel very good gesture by the staff.Welcome by the receptionist with great smile, Yosie & Elis, and very helpful housekeeping staff, Eko. Throughout my stay with friend, it was really satisfying to have all the request from... More

When I heard, that the room is on the back of the hotel, I was glad, because, the street was quiet loud. But when I saw the room, it was really very dark, the only window was to a little yard, where all the technical machines have been placed, noisy and ugly.

I staywd in the Sawunggaling room which I suspect is one of thebetter rooms. The hotel has a Dutch colonial feel to it, my room was large, with a pseudo 4 poster bed, flat screen TV, air conditioning an en-suite bathroom with bath an rain shower (at eye height) and a solid 'screen' dividing the bedroom from the 'living room'... Overall, this a decent place to stay at. The ambience is warm, cosy and a throw-back to a bygone era. The building is an authentic Dutch colonial residence, and the pictures inside serve to emphasise it's heritage. The staff members are very pleasant and helpful. They even recommended food stalls to visit, which was very nice of them. Location wise,... More
