This hotel is situated a good 10-15 min away from the main city centre of Ubud. So though extremely peaceful, one has to take a taxi or rely on the hotel's free shuttle to the main market. We stayed here in December 2014 in the Madslange Villa which was undoubtedly the best room in the entire hotel! Equipped with a... More

My Partner and I stayed at Tanah Merah on our first trip to Bali and It was the most perfect introduction to the beauty of this country. It is a small way out of town however surrounded by breath taking views and a huge relief to return to after a busy day in the main town of Ubud. Our room... More

This is the location of which dreams are made -- you will travel through rice paddies and small villages that maintain their local Balinese culture and end up at the right spot in Ubud. The villas are all amazing, and extremely well priced. The staff is amazing and so is the owner who is originally Danish. The decor is unreal,... More

the location is amazing, between the rice fields and rainforest! far from Ubud but their shuttle service is great and flexible! the resort is small with number of rooms but the space is huge and beautiful! the rooms/cottages vary and I believe that the one we got Java cottage was probably of the lowest standard however I think it was... The only hotel I have ever chosen to stay at for three months in a row in any country - with good reason. Staying in Bali, we visited the best hotels on the Island, however none of them offered the same friendly and private ambiance and unique location as Tanah Merah. Close enough to Ubud to be there in approx.... More

Ubud have tons of resorts and villas and it is difficult to choose the right one. We found Tanah Merah on Agoda.com and the reviews and prices were optimum for our purpose. The resort itself is located about 10 mins drive from Ubud center so the thing to note is that it is definitely not walking distance. However the resort... More

We booked here around a week before turning up, we were collected from the airport (for a charge) with no problems even though we were late arriving! The hotel was about 15minutes out of ubud yet they supplied a free one way shuttle between 900-1800. Getting a taxi back to the hotel was easy and cheap and all drivers knew... More

We stayed in the studio room, which was a huge room. It has two queen size beds, great for family stay. However, the soundproofing of the room was quite bad, we could easily hear next room's noise. The location was a bit far from the Ubud centre, it's difficult to get around for shopping and dining, but here you would... More

Tanah Merah resort is beautiful in every way. It has artifacts, statues, vases, carved wooded doors in all the nooks and crannies. We stayed in one the traditional villas and it's a lot of space for two people, big stone bathroom, seating area on ground floor and bedroom with balcony overlooking the forest on the first floor. Early in the... More

We were treated so well at Tanah Merah. To start a 6- week Asian adventure, this place sure didn't disappoint. I booked through Travelocity for basic accommodations, but to our surprise were given one of the Villas for our stay. Breakfast every morning was amazing, with fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juices, and a selection of other fare. The resort itself,... More
