Alam Shanti is ….. Bali. A beautiful, tranquil idyll set in a lush garden among verdant rice fields. We, a family of four, stayed two nights at the charming and spacious Yamuna villa, enjoying breakfast on the terrace served by kebaya-clad ladies, sleeping peacefully under the mosquito nets of our four-poster beds, lounging by the semi-private pool, marvelling at the... Away from the increasingly busy main Ubud area, is the shady and cool gardens and villas of Alam Shanti. A very Balinese experience with beautiful gardens with 2 storey Balinese houses (upstairs and downstairs suite in each) well spaced around the grounds. We stayed in Yamuna, the downstairs of the villa which shares a very large private pool with the... More

This place is great! Many positive aspects have already been pointed out by other TA members such as: it's situated in a great location and has beautiful grounds with fabulous Balinese style guesthouses. The setting truly provides a wonderful sense of peace and relaxation. The fresh breakfast that is served each morning is just divine!

We had an amazingly peaceful stay here, on the other side of Monkey Forest, away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Breakfast was great and healthy, and the complimentary afternoon tea a nice touch to help unwind from sightseeing in the morning. We stayed in the garden view - Shindu, it was very clean, neat and comfortable. We could... More

This is a paradise in a small pasadise. The beauty of this place is that it feels local and nice at the same time which makes the place very genuine. In Ubud and in Bali you will find lots of villas and boutique hotels that although beautiful they start to look mainstream however Shanti still remains genuine. The service is... More

This was our second stay at Alam Shanti, the first time we had just loved it. This time we had booked the Gayatri room. From the reception it is a 5 min walk. As we had arrived in the night and though the walk way had lights, my daughter was nervous of walking through the fields with all the croaking... More

This was our second stay at Alam Shanti, and I have to say that it is a really pleasant place to stay. We travelled with friends and had the garden house. The price is very reasonable, especially considering the size of the room, which also incorporates a large verandah and kitchen area. The property is a short but easy walk... More

We were very pleased with this hotel. It was beautiful, with a marble bathroom & spacious living and sleeping areas. It was close enough to central Ubud that we could walk or take an inexpensive taxi to see things, but far enough from the bustle to have a peaceful sleep. I advise bringing insect repellant if you are prone to... More

Alam Shanti - what I would give to be back there right now. There aren't enough complimentary words that I can use to describe this little gem. Our 4 night stay was perfection. From the second we arrived we felt so welcome here. Just off a flight after 24 hours of travelling from Ireland we were greeted by wonderfully friendly... More
