A friend recommended this place to us and we were so delighted with our stay there. This side of town is relatively quiet but it has bars and restaurants aplenty. Staff are disarmingly friendly. Breakfast and afternoon tea, which are included in the price, are very good. We stayed in the cheapest room for three nights then in a more... More

We had a breathtakingly wonderful four days in Ubud staying at the Alam Shanti. Starting with the email inquiries and correspondence, they make you feel like visiting family. We stayed one night in the Dewi Suite, and three in the Yamuna Suite, which I think is one of the best ones, but all seem to be great. The rooms are... More

We stayed at the Dewi room, which is huge and beautiful. I had initially asked for a room with twin beds but as they were booked out, we got Dewi. The bed (among with everything else) is really big, so there is no problem sharing it with a friend. The best part about the room was the great balcony and... More

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly once you get them to open up. Be prepared with your camera 30 minutes after sunrise. Dozens of monkeys come herding over the walls almost like an episode out of Planet of the Apes. Monkey Forest is just up the road, so this must be a pass-through. I recommend getting a driver for... We stayed in the indus villa. The kids were thrilled with the romantic ambience of the room particularly the four poster beds. We always look forward to breakfast served at the balcony. The bread and juices are freshly made everyday served in very pleasant settings. The complimentay transport to various parts of ubud is a big plus point. We enjoyed... More

This lovely place is unique in so many ways. Each room is hidden in its own niche and feels so private. The gardens are manicured, the staff reserved but always pleasant and helpful. They brought breakfast to our room each day, simple but very satisfying. It is not a fancy place, but felt like a real cultural experience. We enjoyed... More

I have visited Bali 5 times over the years and stayed in various hotels. Alam Shanti is the best. Our Bali guide who is driving around and who I have befriended is of the same opinion. Do not be fooled by the expensive 5 star properties Bali is full of. None better reflects the old charm of the island like... More

We stayed in three different rooms at Alam Shanti. Loved Shindu, very large room, quite private, big verandah with lotus pond, outdoor bathroom, all lovely. Nothing beats the elaborate breakfast delivered to one's room by caring staff. In pleasant village, close to good restaurants and not too far from Monkey Forest. Elegant spa and swimming pool on site. Have been... More

Alam Shanti is ….. Bali. A beautiful, tranquil idyll set in a lush garden among verdant rice fields. We, a family of four, stayed two nights at the charming and spacious Yamuna villa, enjoying breakfast on the terrace served by kebaya-clad ladies, sleeping peacefully under the mosquito nets of our four-poster beds, lounging by the semi-private pool, marvelling at the...
