This is my husband's favourite hotel in Bali. We booked last minute so the only room available was the Gangga room which is the top floor of the bungalow that has a private pool. We paid A$200 per night with breakfast and afternoon tea Pros Very authentic Balinese room - huge. Beautifully decorated, lovely furniture Choice of open sided bathroom... More

Second time there, this time I got the room Gayatri, in front of the rice fields. Very good breakfast, nice pool and spa. Staff very efficient, free transportation for the restaurants in Ubud center, but very nice walk though Monkey Forest if you walk to the center. New very good restaurants in the surroundins. Always exellent! More

All I can say is Alam Shanti is the best place I have stayed in in Ubud, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a place to relax, enjoy the calm quiet nature of Bali and unwind. No TV, no DVD, no radio, total bliss ! Delicious food, beautiful staff and nothing too much trouble for them. Great pool... More

Our favorite of the hotels that we stayed at in Bali, and overall one of our favorite hotel experiences ever. I really can’t say enough good things about this unbelievable stunning beautiful place. If you can’t tell already, we really like this place. It’s an amazing value. Gorgeous spacious luxurious old style Bali room with modern conveniences. Beautiful veranda where... More

I am going to go with a 6 out of 5 stars for Alam Shanti. We stayed for 4 nights in the Gangga room (this along with Yamuna Room share a private pool). We had great views of the rice paddies. Our room was huge...really..it was huge..it had a bigger than a king sized bed and also another twin bed.... More

I stayed over Christmas at Alam Shanti with my family. We stayed in the Parwati room and the Lumbung house which are within 10 meters of each other. The Parwati room was amazingly beautiful, with a table and chairs for 4 on the open veranda overlooking a dazzling green rice paddy. Along the side, there was another veranda with a... More

Stayed here in Dec 2011 - Loved it... Okay there's no TV/DVD but our 8 and 10 year old played in the gardens, feed all the fish, swam in the pool, took part in the activities at Laka leke, ate... We played cards, read, talked, walked and booked our driver for a few days while here. The children cried when... More

Thank god I took the time to sort out a room in advance at Alam Shanti, it was really worth the effort. Located on a very quiet road behind the Monkey Temple, the hotel was just perfect in every way. When we stayed there you would think we were the only guests though it was full. Our rooms were simply... More

I'm a big fan of the Alam hotels. Alam Shanti is charming, efficient and relaxing. Some annoying house construction in a nearby property, but otherwise calm and restful. An aggressive and fearless monkey prowled around the terrace at breakfast time; he snarled and made an attacking gesture, I batted him away with a Dutch Uncle pillow. More

We spent 4 nights at Yamuna Room from 8th to 12th December. We arrived at hotel late in the night and the staff was very helpful. We enjoyed all about the resort. The 2 special highlights were the very friendly staff and the breakfast (I can't forget the banana pancake with coconut and palm sugar - very yummi!) served at... More
