I looked at so many hotel reviews for Ubud and with fingers crossed we finally chose the Cendana for a 4 night family stay recently. We had a very pleasant stay. We were looking for value - not luxury in the middle of Ubud and that's what we found. We stayed in a ground floor room near the back of... More

Amazing place to stay. From the airport pick up, lovely rooms and location, good breakfast and great driver. Loved it. We were too busy out and about to use the pool at all. But it looked amazing. Even though this hotel is on the bustling monkey forest road it still has the tranquility of rice fields and a lovely spa.

Cendana resort is a great place to stay if visiting Ubud for the first time. It is right in the middle of town, walking distance to everything and a wonderful sanctuary to come home to each day after being out. Front part of the hotel has the older, more historic and traditional Balienese rooms, which I stayed in. My room... More

The sign out the front reads, 'The Tradition Of Excellence Continues'... I think it continued right on down the road, and left this place a long time ago. My first introduction to the Cendana was the Hotel Transport that picked me up at the Airport. The Suzuki 8 Seater had to be at least 10 years old, torn seats, an... More

I visited Cendana with a family on our 2nd holiday trip this year. Reading the mixed reviews on TripAdvisor, I booked a room early while crossing my fingers that I have chosen the right place. When we arrived, we are quite pleased that despite its close proximity to the main Monkey Forest Rd there are not much noise from the... More

Cendana is in the traditional Bali style resort, quite old but we had upstairs room so was quite. Restaurant is a no go, we had free breakfast included but did not go back after the first morning as the buffet was very ordinary. Staff were friendly like most Bali resorts, but the best thing going for the place is definately... More

We paid for the best room the property offered which was a deluxe room. Really? USD100/night for a building that was 70 years old and last upgraded in the 90s - or earlier. Typical noisy room where you can hear the people above you using toilets, talking, scraping chairs etc. Restaurant was a joke - tiny menu and no alcohol... More

We recently stayed at Cendana with our teenager daughters and friends. From the moment we were welcomed with a "good morning sir" from the resident pet bird our stay was flawless. We stayed in the Deluxe Rooms down at the back of the property, close by the large pool and restaurant. A lot of people complain about the bathrooms at... More

This was a great location. I was in Ubud for a few days before taking a class near Sudaji. I found this hotel to be conveniently near the market, shops and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pools and gardens were beautiful. It is a nice quiet location set back from the street overlooking rice fields. They were... More

The resort is in the perfect location, walking distance to everything. The staff are really friendly and the grounds are so green. The rooms are a little bit outdated but didn't bother us and the brekkie isn't that great. I would highly recommend to others who want somewhere central and for a great price.
