Location: Approximately 15 minutes from the centre of Ubud, the hotel is built into an escarpment, overlooking a valley. The entrance to the hotel off the main road, is a bit third world  but don't let this put you off. The hotel itself is surrounded by some beautiful gardens. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus four trips into Ubud... More

I've read other reviews and they seem harsh. Restaurant not best but Ubud either a free shuttle or $7 away, which if you can afford to stay here shouldn't be an issue. Room, staff, service, views all excellent and I'd come again.

When we booked in, they upgraded us. At first we thought that this was great. But an upgrade meant two separate villas. My husband and I were on holiday with our almost 10 year old. They wanted her to stay in a separate villa and would that be alright? So, in the end, our daughter slept on our couch as... More

This resort is all we had hoped for.The wifi was free and available in all areas. The grounds were superb with gorgeous tropical plants everywhere and such attractive buildings and stonework. It felt like a jungle getaway! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the free mini bar was great-it was refilled every day at no extra cost. The... More

My Husband and I stayed here for four nights at the start of our honeymoon and I could recommend it higher. The staff were incredible - especially Wayan who met us from our transfer car, showed us to our room and then was on hand at all times throughout our trip to help us with anything we needed - even... My husband, our son and I stayed at the Payogan in May in a two bedroom Villa. It was very impressive and tranquil. The atmosphere was fantastic, and staff were so friendly. The breakfast had a lot to choose from and plenty to eat. A shuttle bus into Ubud and pick up back to the Villas. The restaurant was awesome... More

We spent 4 nights in a perfect location. Perfect view, silence, own pool to the villa... what else would you ask? Although the breakfest was nice the rest of the food (dinner) was not so special. But if you are there go to a Balinese massage, the staff is awesome and really good.
