Just a few steps from the famous monkey forests and the center, the Pertiwi resort is a calm and relaxing place to stay in Ubud. The hotel has two swimming pools, one near the bar, the other one in a beautiful garden, surrounded by a profuse and luxuriant vegetation. The service is kind and helpful, and the bedroom was clean... More

Glad we left this place after 3 nights. Booked the "super de-luxe" room. Really do not want to think what a standard room would look like. We had stains on floors, ceilings, crummy bathroom and so on. Looks it was put up in 1960 without any renovation after that. Poor customer service as well. Only good thing is location. When... More

I moved to Pertiwi at short notice, as the hotel I was booked into originally turned out to be miles from Ubud. In terms of the location I wasn't disappointed: you couldn't ask for a better spot. Right in the centre of town, with so many nice shops, cafés and restaurants nearby. About a ten minute walk from the palace,... More

Stayed there with my family for a night on our way back, Ubud is a very nice place, the location is good, rooms are reasonably well maintained, however very poor customer service, no room service menu and break fast menu is something I better live without eating it. Not worth for the $$$ we pay...

Like every other place I go to in Bali, the real local people who are still poor and living in village life wearing traditional clothings are super nice and pure, and the ones who can speak English and been working in tourism for awhile are rude and trying everything to rip me off. In the end i just couldn't be... More

I stayed here for two nights while touring Bali and found the location to be ideal for exploring Ubud and the surrounding area. The rooms are spacious with lots of cupboard space, although we were at the back of the hotel, far from reception but handy for breakfast. The WIfi signal in the room was un-reliable but I had no... I've stayed at Pertiwi on and off for many years and seen its transformation from a single sprawling property to three resorts (the main Monkey Forest hotel and two more in Jalan Bisma). It's not a four- or five star experience but then neither is the price. I like the gardens and spaciousness of the properties and that the staff... More

This hotel is huge and you tend to get put out the back of the complex, which is a buggie ride from reception. The rooms are nice, but the bath wasn't clean. The free WIFI is a joke as reception is zilch! They seem to lack in minor aspects which is sad for what could be an amazing hotel.

Positives : beautiful scenery, location great!!, nice pools, quiet at night. Negatives : the king size bed was actually two hard single beds pushed together with a hard ridge down the middle! Was very uncomfortable. The fuse box was open with exposed wires, actually the kettle blew the fuse. It is incredibly hilly inside the resort. Up hills and stairs... More

I had stayed here about 6 years ago, before the 'upgrade', and was excited to stay in mid-Ubud again. Superficially the place looks great- new pool, modernized rooms. On closer inspection the lustre wears off, though. The problems in my room were- Main door had a large gap the full length of the door. Big enough for mosquitoes, and a... More
