I cant begin to tell how amazing my 2 weeks at the ashram were! I felt so happy and energized after leaving this place... The place is beautiful and set on a peaceful location 10min from ubud center with a motorbike. The hosts Herny and Yuda are the sweetest and most helpful people you will meet, and they really get... This time, 7 nights meant being able to really enjoy the ashram ambience and the programs of daily yoga, chanting, evening kirtan and meditation. The kirtan evening was followed by a social gathering including the Kuta family of the ashram. Only disappointment was to find that several new buildings have been and are being built in the rice paddy that... More

Loved stayed at the Anand Ashram in Ubud. This little oasis has wonderful rooms, wonder staff, amazing food and gorgeous grounds. We stayed for about 2 weeks enjoying some of the programs like meditation and yoga. Met incredible people here that we are still in touch with. It is a little bit away from the main road and you will... More

Anand Ashram is very much a working spiritual space into which travellers are welcomed and treated with respect and concern. If you want alcohol, coffee, cigarettes then there are hundreds of other places to chose in Ubud. The day is structured around the work of the ashram whose principles are based on the imprisoned advocate for Interfaith harmony and rights... More

We loved it! We spent 5 nights there and we enjoyed the place a lot. The room is good and the staff is very friendly. It is around the rice fields and away from Ubud downtown, so you need to rent a bike to get to the shops and restaurants (5 min ride). The yoga studio and meditation temple are... More

I stayed here in July 2013 with my 17 year old daughter. It was reasonable, clean, in beautiful shape about 3 km from the centre of Ubud, Bali. It is in the rural area surrounded by rice fields. Herny is the administrator, very knowledgable and helpful. Yuda cooks wonderful vegetarian meals for a small price. Wayan maintains much of the... More

I just spent nearly one month here. So peaceful and quiet among green rice paddies. It's a 40 minute very pleasant walk down hill into Ubud. Most guests hire a motor scooter while they're here but I enjoyed walking and taking a motorcycle taxi back up the hill at the end of the day. I found one person who picked... More

We were so happy to have stayed there for our first 10 days in Ubud! We could not have found a better place to start our journey here.. so calm, serene and quiet offering meditations, yoga and even simple but delicious meals at great rates! Herny and Ude were so kind and helped us with whatever we needed during our... More

How does one receive good karma from having your money stolen? By not going to The Hyatt and coming here instead. I never wanted to leave and I will come back here for an extended stay. It is too lovely set among the villages and rice padi of outer Ubud. 6am 12 noon and 6pm there is chanting meditation. The... More

Beautiful, peaceful place just outside of ubud on a rural lane. Simple, lovingly made rooms with nice views, inspiring open temple space for meditation and kirtan on Wednesday evenings. And my favorite: the small temple room above that honors the divine feminine in a number of forms. Not a new-age vibe--more grounded than that, while it welcomes those of every... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Anand Ashram provides accomodation for guests who genuinely seek a spiritual life. The room is not luxurious but comfortable with basic facilities. Enjoy the peaceful environment that is conducive for Self-Discovery and Empowerment, with daily activities of Chanting Meditation and Yoga. Located 3 km from Ubud Center, it will take 45 minutes by walking and 5 minutes by scooter. Meals can be ordered at premise. No cooking facility available. The minimum age to stay in the ashram is 12 years old. We regret that at present we do not have special facilities for the disable or sick persons. We, therefore, expect all visitors to be in fit condition, physically, as well as mentally/emotionally. ... more   less
