Staying at Mulawarman was the best decision of my Ubud trip. Couldn't expect a warmer and friendly host. Ibu Wayan, from the time picked me up from airport along with her husband was nothing less than kind, sweet and loveable. Thank you Ibu for such a warm hospitality. Location of Mulawarman was pretty perfect for me. Its well in the... More

It's difficult to believe such a lovely place existed minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Jl.Raya Ubud. It's quite a steep climb up and around 5 min walk following a small river to get to the place. but all the effort is completely worth it. I stayed at one of the smaller rooms. Tiny bathroom but everything was... More

Mulawarman is the worst place I have stayed in my life. Construction work going on, poor management and no amenities or cleanliness whatsoever – for $85/night. If you want to pay top dollar for overpriced backpacker accommodation and walk down a dark narrow unsafe path next to a brown stream while dodging motorbikes, read on. As per a previous review... I am so happy that we decided to stay with Ibu Wayan. She really helped turn our stay in Ubud to something out of the ordinary. Ibu Wayan: Ibu Wayan is one of the warmest and friendliest people that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She really went out of her way to make sure that we had... More

We have just had a lovely 3 night stay at Mulawarman Guest House in Ubud. Wayan and her family were absolutely wonderful hosts, they treat you as part of the family. This is part of the reason we chose Mulawarman as it is very much a home stay. Our room (number 3, one of the ground floor garden view rooms)... More

Ibu Wayan and family are fabulous hosts. I stayed a full week in room 7, a space opening onto lush garden. Every morning I had her yummy gluten free rice pancakes that are amazing. Able to have a pot of tea whenever I wanted and felt both very safe as a solo female traveler and well cared for. I booked... More

The room i stayed in upstairs was beautiful . Clean bright and beautifully furnished . I was fortunate to arrive a night when our host was cooking dinner! Delicious home made meal ! The bath is comfy and big , the shower head is not attached to the wall so will need to hold onto while showering . There isn't... More

We had a wonderful experience with Ibu Wayan and her warm welcome, with all her family. They are extremely helpful and always try to make your stay as best as possible. They propose but do not impose : for example, Ibu Wayan proposed us a guide, but we prefered to go with a French-speaking guide that we discovered on Internet... More

If you're travelling solo this is the place to stay! Just one phone call and I was greeted at the airport by Wayan's husband and driven in comfort to beautiful Ubud. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and the rooms are serviced daily. The view of the jungle and rice paddies are amazing. As soon as I arrived I was... More

After 20 hours of travel, I was picked up at the airport by Wayan's husband. They gave me a meal when I arrived, and Wayan hugged me and told me I was family! I stayed in a room with a balcony and it was charming. The air conditioning was cold, and there was a TV in the room. I enjoyed... More
