The homestay is perfectly located on Goutama street, right in the middle of cute little cafes & restaurants. It's basic but clean, and have AC & hot water, with friendly staff. I would recommend booking it direct to Putu & get almost half the price of what's published on the definitely overpriced online booking sites.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We are happy to read you enjoyed your stay. We also thank you for sharing with us that a team member is actually quoting wrong prices and trying to take cash to confirm bookings directly without going via the management. Action shall most defintely be taken. kind regards Citrus Tree Villas Management Team More

..the rooms are sparse and characterless, privacy is very minimal in the rooms at the rear and upstairs. The showers are cold despite being advertised as hot. And under no circumstances do not leave any valuables, esp. cash in your room even if its concealed in you bag.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to read that you did not have a flow of hot water in your room. But you could have informed the staff on the ground and they would have got engineering to check it or changed your room. We want all our guests to enjoy their stay. Also we are... More

When staying in Ubud, give Mai Malu a go. While there we stayed in a double room downstairs and also a twin upstairs, both were very spacious and extremely comfortable. Breakfast we were given a choice of continental, pancakes, omelette and eggs. Mai Malu is on a very central side street, with a lot of resturants within walking distance, the... More

Friendly, comfortable, clean, well situated. What else??? Perfect. We spent 5 days in Mai Malu Homestay. Managed by a friendly and helpful family. They organized day trips, shuttle bus to airport or any activity in the whole island. Recomended 100%.

The rooms are nicely decorated and it is surprisingly quiet for its central location. Fine for a short stay but lacks the Balinese warmth I found elsewhere. Given that it does not have a pool, it's certainly one of the more expensive homestays.

There is only one place for me in Ubud to stay and that is at Mai Malu. For me it was fate when I first entered to the homestay of Putu and her family. I immediately felt home and the good spirits of this place are obvious. You enter and you find home and peace in the middle of Ubud... More

Mai Malu was recommended by a friend so I knew it would be a good place to stay. What I didn't expect was the warmth and friendliness that surrounds it mostly coming from 'mama' Putu who manages the homestay and all guest needs. I stayed 1 week then left for a change and within 24 hrs I was back with... More

We stayed there in April and can generally concur with previous reviews. We booked one of the new upper level rooms but were given a standard ground level room on arrival despite confirmation several times by email. This was quite disappointing but we stayed as we had nowhere else to go at the time. We found both the bedroom and... More
