My partner and I just returned from a holiday in Indonesia and Bangkok, during which we stayed at Amanjiwo for 3 nights, Amankila for 4 nights, Amanwana for 4 nights, and Amanusa for 1 night, as well as 2 nights at the Sokhothai hotel in Bangkok. While at Amankila, we took a day tour with private guide and driver and... more

5 star all the way. Great rooms, great pool, great food, great staff , great gym and excellent activity program. It costs a bit but it is worth it. Go on treat yourself and check out the website for the special events planned around the full moon weekends leading up to the 20th anniversary of the property. more

Ubud, this is the heart of Bali synonymous with the beautiful green rice fields scenery, with a deep traditionnalism of the balinese culture, with the very "cool" village life and with Amandari... Located at 15 minutes from the active Monkey Forest street, in the middle of a luxurious tropical vegetation, perched high on the hill over the Ayung river, this... more

My husband and I went to the Amandari for the second part of our honeymoon. Having stayed at the Four Seasons in Jimbaran Bay, for the first half of our trip- where we were blissfully happy - and literally felt that the staff loved us - we were let down with a thud at the Amandari. Neither of us had... more

On my trip to bali I learned the same thing that is said about four seasons can be said of Amans - not all Amans were created equally. I came to Bali on the Bali experience through Aman resorts and Amandari was our first stop. Having stayed at Amanjena (Morrocco) our expectations were high. I have to say that I... more

The Amandari is definitely unique: if you expect a standard five stars hotel, don't go there. But if you want to experience a completely different atmosphere, you’ll find that the Amandari is the most wonderful place in Bali, and probably one the finest in the world. Everything there, wherever you look, is pure, simple and beautiful, from the entire compound... more

Aman resorts have always generally really impressed us. Their service, standard and setting. However the Amandari lacked the polished service typical of Amans. The resort was rundown and dated (the rooms and the public areas). The food was not good. And it was the same price and advertised under the same guise as other Aman resorts which makes no sense.... more

One feels as if one is staying in a beautiful Balinese village. Staff are wonderful. Our pool villa was magnificent and authentically imbued with all the smells, colours and design elements which remind one of this beautiful island. more

We just came back from 3 nights at Amandari and 4 nights at Amankila for their Bali Experience Package. Amankila is wonderful (read my review there) but Amandari is only so-so. We had pool suites at both resorts so we can compare the two. Amandari is a little dated and looking worn down, which is surprising because we were told... more

We just returned from Ubud, and were set for a stay at the Four Seasons for seven nights. They asked if there were any special events to consider, and we told them of our 20th anniversary as the reason for the trip. Not only did that gain us no special acknowledgements, but they offered us a very average room for... more
