We enjoyed our stay at the Gunung Merta Bungalows very much. It is peaceful and the view from our terrace was amazing! The host and his family are very friendly. The breakfast is delicious! Our children had the chance to interact with the family, and to participate in cooking and preparation of offering baskets. Sanitair is Ok, but could be renowed... More

The 'bungalows' are set amid a beautiful garden hidden back from the street. Our room was a good size, with balcony looking out back into tropical jungle. All of the staff were pleasant, the pool was lovely and very clean and the breakfast excellent. The bathrooms could be nicer but it was clean enough and had toiletries. Having drinking water... More

We stayed for 3 nights. Arranged airport pick up as our flight arrived in the evening. Also opted to have them drop us back at airport although they were more expensive compared to others. Pros: beautifully positioned rooms in the back of the property with quaint garden surrounds. Close to Main Street in Ubud. Walking distance about 10-15 mins. Fantastic... More

V. nice garden, friendly & helpful staff, nice environment, safety LOL(just next to police station). Room is a run-down, need some repair & touch up. Pool is slightly small but fine. Western breakfast is good & Healthy juice is i recommended, lastly don't forget to try out the ice lemon tea. Sadly the padi view is no longer padi field.... More

We loved this place! It is well positioned close to Ubud's main street and across from a large supermarket. Stayed a week with my wife and 16 year old son. The tourist cottages are set at the end of a delightful traditional garden complete with winding paths, ornate gateways and modern looking swimming pool (dominated by a large female figure... More

Stayed here our one night in Ubud and loved our bungalow. A bit run-down, but very cosy. Everyone working and living there are lovely and helpful. Great way to get a real insight into Balinese culture and traditions.

I booked here for our group of 12 based on reviews and we all loved our week long stay. The price was very reasonable and included excellent breakfasts and limited menu lunch or dinner. The bathrooms are basic with shower problems for tall people but the gardens, pool and wonderfully friendly staff plus the handy location to a big supermarket... More

Gunung merta Bungalows are fine just fine don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. On the plus side the compound itself is beautiful and quiet, the family are friendly and the room was comfortable with a view of jungle ( not rice fields as advertised), the breakfast is generous and the staff were lovely. On the negative side... More

We booked well in advance thru Booking.com however they were not fully connected till the day we arrived and therefore they did not have a room for us. This was not their fault, but none the less they reserved a BETTER room for us in their other bungalow Lokasari and paid the difference. They really went out of their way... More

We made a reservation 3 weeks ago and when we arrived today there was no room for us. They did not even take the blame and blamed Hostelworld. They promissed us an upgrade in another hotel, but this was more of a downgrade. Brick dodgy bungalows with no Balinese influences what so ever. Terrible beginning of our Bali experience!!!
