We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gunung Merta. All of the staff were so friendly and are all such great people. The pool is absolutely amazing and looks even better than in the photos. On arrival Gusde kindly greeted us at the airport and transported us to Gunung Merta Bungalows, even though we arrived late at night. Gusde is such... More

I stayed here for a week whilst travelling by myself. I found the hotel traditional, clean and the hosts/family very friendly and welcoming. Whilst there I booked a massage everyday; the best I've had in years!!! When leaving they drove me back to Kuta for a very good price and made sure I checked into my next hotel safely. I... More

We stayed here for just one night (we wanted to stay two nights, but it was fully booked). The bungalow was very spacious and had a balcony. Our bungalow was located right in front of the pool, which was nice and refreshing! The food was good and cheap and the staff was very friendly. (Most of them did not speak... More

An excellent place to go on a budget for independent travellers. Upstairs room with fantastic balcony overlooking vegetation and has a nice breeze. Mosquito net over bed was perfect. Bathrooms are average but hey, at those prices who really cares? The garden has a cooling effect on the whole property too and the pool looked amazing although I didn't get... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Gunung Merta Bungalows very much. It is peaceful and the view from our terrace was amazing! The host and his family are very friendly. The breakfast is delicious! Our children had the chance to interact with the family, and to participate in cooking and preparation of offering baskets. Sanitair is Ok, but could be renowed... More

The 'bungalows' are set amid a beautiful garden hidden back from the street. Our room was a good size, with balcony looking out back into tropical jungle. All of the staff were pleasant, the pool was lovely and very clean and the breakfast excellent. The bathrooms could be nicer but it was clean enough and had toiletries. Having drinking water... We stayed for 3 nights. Arranged airport pick up as our flight arrived in the evening. Also opted to have them drop us back at airport although they were more expensive compared to others. Pros: beautifully positioned rooms in the back of the property with quaint garden surrounds. Close to Main Street in Ubud. Walking distance about 10-15 mins. Fantastic... More

We loved this place! It is well positioned close to Ubud's main street and across from a large supermarket. Stayed a week with my wife and 16 year old son. The tourist cottages are set at the end of a delightful traditional garden complete with winding paths, ornate gateways and modern looking swimming pool (dominated by a large female figure... More

Stayed here our one night in Ubud and loved our bungalow. A bit run-down, but very cosy. Everyone working and living there are lovely and helpful. Great way to get a real insight into Balinese culture and traditions.
