Very welcoming house and helpful staff : they arranged the pick up from the airport and helped to organize our trip to Ubud area. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom original, the pool delightful and the breakfast local! We could rent the scooter directly from the hotel. It took us just 10 mins to go to Ubud center,... More

Every aspect of Desa Sanctuary was perfect for us. I travelled with a friend to especially attend the "Soul Shine' festival at the Green School. No request was too much trouble for the staff whether it be transport, food or just simply taking photos.

We travel a lot so of course we deal with hospitality customer service reps. often. The Sanctuary staff were friendly, accommodating and so helpful. The woman managing the property is just LOVELY! She went out of her way to ensure our comfort! Being she was a native of Bali she was able to give good advice on where to go,... More

Excellent room - very comfortable; the Sanctuary is located on the edge of Ubud, so the surrounding area is a bit quieter. However, it is very easy to get into Ubud from the Sanctuary - they will happily allow you to rent mopeds, so the town is within arm's reach. The service was amazing - everyone was extremely accomodating and... More

It's a cozy place not far from the Ubud Centre. It's probably only 10 mins away by bike and the staff are able to rent one for u at about IDR60,000 per day. I stayed at Lotus and it had everything I needed. Outdoor toilet was a bit daunting at first but I got used to it once I figured... More

A perfect joglo retreat in a relaxed garden environment with pool, well looked after by the staff and the owner Brenda is charming and helpful. It's on the edge of Ubud, a longish walk into town but a cheap taxi ride, no problem, yet far enough away to be on the edge of rice fields and in a quiet location.... More

LOVED this place. Thanks to Nengha and Taman and the rest of the staff. Some people say it's a bit far from town, but we found it to be a perfect spot for us to rejuvenate at the end of our culturally and exotically filled days in and around Ubud. 12 minute walk to the yoga barn, 20 minutes to... Needing a few nights before my next Indonesian destination, I arrived at Desa Sanctuary on New Years Day feeling the stress of moving house and saying goodbyes. On entering The Village I breathed a big sigh, feeling so welcome as I was warmly greeted by Ketut and the other staff and presented with a delicious 'welcome drink' on introduction to... More

We stayed in the cozy lotus lambung and it was really cozy, just enough for two people. I like the concept of an open living room. The bathroom overlooks outside so if you're really tall it may erupt a little bit of privacy. The bathroom water takes a while to heat up. Upstairs, the bedroom was designed nicely to fit... More

Desa Sanctuary was recommended by friends, and I booked it immediately when I saw photos of the unique, traditional Indonesian cottages and read the positive reviews. The staff seem lovely, the little I saw of them. They offered me my choice of the available cottages on arrival, so I stayed in my favourite. The garden is tranquil and full of... More

Hello HeatherfromCanada, We are very sorry that we missed your request for an airport transfer. I understand that it was our fault and all I can say is "I'm really sorry". The staff arrives at 8:00 AM, so no one would be there before that, but at 8:00 they promptly arrive as breakfast is a big part of our service.... More
