you can expect an eclectic setting and environment that is peaceful, comforting and enlivening. Each room is different with a theme, they have great massage, Yoga, local cultural shows from time to time and homely delicious food. Interesting clientele as well, as this intelligently planned level of retreat attracts artists, intellectuals, and those interested in holistic well being. If you... More

We are a family travelling with friends and Michi had been recommended to us as nice but a bit trippy. If you are tired of the usual resort formula and are looking of something a bit different then give Michi a try. We stayed in the Nostalgia suit and our friends stayed in the Feng Sui room. There were many... More

One day I heard someone saying: "Don't fall in love with something too fast. You won't know something well before you learn about it and are in it." I think that applied to my 'relationship' with Michi. It was love at first sight, I fell in love with the place in the first minute I stepped on it. In April... More

As soon as you walk into Michi Village, your mind will be blown by what you see. Colorful mosaic collages line the walls and pave every floor, remarkable sculptures decorate every open space, and the architecture all around is a distinct work of art in itself. The entire place is truly a feast for the eyes. What's more, every room... More

I had a great time at Michi Retreat. it was great to stay somewhere out of the tourist rush of Ubud central, but still it was a short trip into town. Michi is in a quiet village set beside a stunning river and overlooking ricefields and forest. It is really a special place. It was quiet enough to relax by... More

I took a tour of the facilities the week after New Year's as a potential place to bring a workshop group at the end of 2012. I was appalled at what I saw. The grounds are overgrown and unkempt. The villas are FILTHY and all of the mattresses have huge stains, there's mold and cracked tile everywhere. This must have... More

michi is indeed an amazing place. it's unique and special on so many levels. it's tucked away along a river overlooking terraces of rice paddy fields. the architecture and design is not like any place i've ever been. unfortunately it isn't being taken care of as much as it should and there could be improvements with operations, cleanliness of rooms,... I've recently spent a relaxing and wonderful week at Michi Retreat. I've been there also last year and when we arrived the staff welcomed us back home. It is just outside the crowded Ubud beside a nice river and across rice fields. It's peaceful, inspirying and absolutely magic. The retreat is unique, each room is different, rich in details and...
