Set upon a hill overlooking tourist Bali is a peaceful country lodge were birds and butterflies sort over tropical gardens. Yet one is only a couple of k away from beaches, nightlife, shops. Staff is outstanding. So friendly and helpful. Food is varied, always fresh and tasty. Dining room is open air overlooking the city. Air contiditioned rooms. There is... More

Having previously stayed at Rimba Ecolodge in Kalimantan, I used the excellent services of Ecolodges Indonesia to make all arrangements for my small group of friends to visit Bali, Flores, Sulawesi, Kalimantan and Java for three weeks in October. We stayed at their Lodges wherever possible and had a really wonderful time. As the overall organisation is based in this... More

Udayana Eco Lodge is up in the hillside and about 20 minutes walking to the main part of Jimbaran. I booked this on a romantic whim before going to Borneo thinking I would still enjoy being with nature. However, I was the only one there and I was glad I only had two nights booked. Although the tranquility gave me... More

Thank you for your comments about our lodge. Sorry you were so lonely; normally we do have enough guests to make sure there is someone to talk to. We are a place where we aim to give rest to our guests and well liked by honeymooners, small groups and even large groups eg birders. Civilisation is certainly impinging on our... More

Quiet, green but a little bit too far from the beach. Ride is about 30 min with some traffic issues. Rooms are nice and clean; interesting roof construction. Fine dining room and a huge library. A/C was a bit loud but okay and very cool.

Thank you for your comments on the Udayana Kingfisher Eco Lodge, which are appreciated. You can walk to the Jimbaran beach in about 15 minutes but this lodge is mainly a bird sanctuary. More

This is a wonderful place to stay when transiting or just chilling out. Lovely quiet gardens, good size pool for doing laps and beautiful rooms. There are some lovely walks from here which are well worth doing if you have the time. The only hassle is getting to shops as it involves organizing a driver sit is a fair distance... More

We greatly appreciate your report on our Udayana Kingfisher Eco Lodge. We believe this lodge, owned by Udayana University and managed by Ecolodges Indonesia, is one of Bali's best kept secrets. The lodge is in the last protected bird sanctuary area in Nusa Dua. More

This hotel offers a huge garden full of birds and butterflies, with a clever built hotel. Ten rooms on the ground floor, each with outside bathroom (shower, double basin, toilet) aircondition + fan, coffee and tea making facilities, and a huge mosquito net (klambu) around the bed. You can sit outside in front of every room and watch the flowers,... More

I've stayed twice now at Udayana, and both times have been excellent. It's far enough away from the main bustle of Bali to feel relaxed and safe, however close enough to visit the main tourist areas, for instance Kuta, and easy to have dinner in Jimbaran Bay or Seminyak. The meals are all authentic and the open dining room upstairs... More

I stayed here as it was part of a network of eco-lodges. The others I stayed at are in Flores, Sumatra and Kalimantan.(Borneo). The people running this lodge are friendly and the meals exceptional! They can accommodate meals to western tastes if you ask. The rooms are always cleaned and serviced daily. A kettle and coffee and tea are in... More

Birds, butterflies, geckos. A well-maintained outdoor pool. Excellent food (they coped beautifully with our special diets as vegetarians), served in a wonderful treetop restaurant, which doubles as the trophy room of the local cricket club. Yes, flying crickets too. Well-organised tours, on both half day and full day basis, and collection/dropping at airport. Best thing of all perhaps was the... More
