Everything (location, room, restaurant, management, staff) was fine with Ganpati Guest House except the transfer. For the day of departure we had ordered the transfer to the railway station Mughalsarai for our convenience. Right on time a boy of the guesthouse was waiting for us, took a part of our luggage and guided us through the narrow streets of the... More

We stayed for 3 nights at Ganpati during May. It's located in the old city and so was quite tricky to find first off as the narrow streets are very confusing and no cars or rickshaws can come into that area...but ask anyone and they'll be more than happy to show you the way. Ganpati is situated right on the... More

Our one night stay at Ganpati was wonderful. The guest house, for me, has a perfect location - it is far from the main centre of "action" in Varanasi, but this a positive thing, because it is like an oasis, a retreat of calm and silence. The views to the Ganges River are amazing, the whole atmosphere is super relaxed... More

After a long and terrible train ride that was super delayed, My friends and I arrived in Varanasi in the middle of the night. Fortunately, Ganpati Guest House still had someone waiting to pick us up and take us to the hotel at 4am something. The views were great (nice roof top). The location was good, too. The only knock... Ganpati is good value, on probably the best location in breathtaking Varanasi. Staff is helpfull, rooms are basic but clean and with a good shower. On the backside a minor note: charges for services like taxi's and bootrides are a little bit high.

I spend near a week in their new addition, Ganpatti house, It was quiet and brand new. A relaxing place in this amasing and a little crazy town. I think it is the best place to stay and the roof restaurant offer a great view. It is a shame that the wi-fi don't get on top, to the restaurant,

This is a good place to stay. Well positioned to watch the river from the roof top restaurant, wander along the ghats morning or evening and access the old city. Friendly and helpful staff. Our room was quite small but we went budget and did have an extra bed in it. it was very clean and everything worked. An awful... More

From an initial inquiry, to follow up, to final confirmation, organising airport pick up, arranging a boat trip on the Ganges and a trip to Sarnath, GANPATI GUEST HOUSE managed it all very promptly, expertly and professionally. Cute rooms, fabulous staff and great food at the roof top restaurant. Ganpati Guest House, why look anywhere else?

Having spent the last few months in India this is one of the best places we have stayed. We stayed in Ac room with bathroom - not the biggest room but at last some character with good use of the wonderful textiles India has. Excellent shower, great views from the rooftop restaurant and friendly professional staff.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
We are Ganpati Guest House - if you stay here, we are sure that you will have a good time in Varanasi. Of course the view of the beautiful river Ganges is amazing and exotic. Many people who come to Varanasi stay with us in the Ganpati Guest House. The staff are very kind and have a good spirit. We look forward to meeting you and hope beautiful time in Varanasi. The history of Ganpati Guest House: The Ganpati is located at the east end of the Mother Ganges in Varanasi, makes its presence known throughout the riverbanks not only by shining the world's oldest culture as well as oldest city. A city of light...but also by offering cutting-edge restaurants, renowned facilities, amazing view and comfortable accommodations. This 3-story Redstone pyramid was built in 1905 on the river Ganges, contains so many amenities on such an enormous scale that it's becomes practically amazing vacation. Spacious rooms surrounded by the plants, which boasts your staying, dining and entertainment. The Garden, at more than 1000 square feet, is one of Varanasi's oldest existing buildings and rarely available, offering a tranquil sitting, an array of nice music, a rack of books nearby. We want to deliver inside of the property a best atmosphere. We're trying to become a little more contemporary and appeal to all age crowds with holy feelings. We want to offer the best entertainment, dining, staying and relax without insulting the worth of your damage. That's not to say that "The city of Light" will be memorable entire the life. It is, after all, still a part of what makes the property unique, and explained that the hotel is prepared to keep the better executed elements of the riverbank-culture theme. Kind regards. ... more   less
