A Palace on the River, Rashmi Guest House has a very accomodating front desk staff which has allowed me to change my dates of stay 2 times. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is the very best being right on the river bank closest to the ghat where the nightly Arti is celebrated. The... More

Hotels are about location, location, location, right? The Rashmi Guest House is bang by the most fascinting ghats (Man Mandir and Dashashwamedh, where they burn the dead). Step our the door, and you are exactly where you want to be. Stunning. The ghats are full of history and intrigue, and the mazy back-streets of Varanasi are narrow and frantic. Yet... More

Excellent place to stay over in Varanasi. It is situated very close to the main ghat. It is very central to all the action, and close distance to the Lakshmi Chai Walah (best chai in Varanasi, and malai and makan toast), as well as The Blue Lassi Shop (by far the best lassi in the entire India). The staff was... More

A beautiful location, this is the value of this hotel. Little basic, not very 'fancy', but just on the most popular ghat of the city.clean and helpful staff. If you want to go out by yourself at dawn this is the place. the breakfast terrace has a beautiful view of the river.

The hotel is located bang opposite to the ganges. Very close to Dasashwamedh ghat. The hotel is very nicely maintained and the overall hotel is very clean. The hotel staff is also very friendly and cooperative. The flipside - you cannot reach to the hotel on vehicle. You will have to get down near gadoliya and walk. Though you can... More

Overall, this guest house has an excellent location. Our room was very small, but kept well clean. The rooftop restaurant has an excellent view of the Ganges and the ghats, but one can't help feel overwhelmed with the multiple wandering cockroaches in the dining room.

The hotel was perfectly positioned for our stay in Varanasi. The restaurant and the staff in the restaurant were terrific and always happy and enjoyed interacting with us all the time. The rooms are very basic but adequate, you get what you pay for. The rooms were a bit grubby but the position made it bearable. My only complaint was... More

You cannot beat the location if you want to experience Varanasi in its true element. Great location, next to the ghat. Nice roof top restaurant. Clean rooms. Hot water. Patchy wireless in rooms but you can work with it in the lobby. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We had the cheapest room, so the bathroom was also small, and you can't hang any clothes inside if you shower as the whole place gets wet. But the service was fantastic, starting from the time we were welcomed with flower garlands (which perfumed our room for the four nights we stayed). We went during Mahashivratri so we were really... This was a great place to stay. Situated in the old part of Varanasi, on the main Ghat. Everything within walking distance. We booked our transport from the airport through the hotel. We were met in the street by a lovely man called "Gulu" and a porter who walked us through the streets direct to our hotel. "Gulu" a local... More
