Looking at some of the photos on the Travelocity site, the hotel looks kind of shabby. Our stay there was not shabby at all! While the rooms are not all that interesting, they are clean and totally comfortable, and the price is amazing. The lobby is wonderful and the front desk staff are second maybe to the Ritz Carlton. They... more

My wife and two friends traveled through northern India for 7 weeks - Leh Ladakh, Delhi, Shimla, Chandigarh, Darjeeling and Varanasi or "Kashika". While in Varanasi we stayed at the Rashmi Guest House and found that 1) the service was great, 2) the rooms were comfortable, HOWEVER, if you have to arrange your trip around procuring rooms 302 especially and... more

Varanasi was the highlight of our trip, We loved every minute of it. Stay at the Rashmi, you overlook the Ghats, and are just a stroll along from the main bathing Ghat and also the Funeral pyres. Embrass the atmosphere, there are thousands of pilgrims visiting mother Ganges every day, the Photo opportunities are incredible. Video the action. Make sure... more

My wife and I only had 3 days to spend in Varanasi in the middle of May. We arrived by night train from Delhi and were greeted as we stepped off the train (even though it was over an hour late) and were taken straight to this beautiful little guesthouse. They greeted us with a friendly hello and beautiful flowers.... more

I highly recommend staying at A Palace on the River in Varanasi - it was a wonderful experience! Immediately upon my arrival, I met Pappu who introduced me to Rohit, a local tour guide and true Varanasi expert. Rohit was well versed in Varanasi history and culture and had many connections throughout town which I truly appreciated - he organized... more

We spent 3 days in Varanasi, staying at the Palace on the River, We stayed in a deluxe room over looking the river, it was a nice room with a fantastic view. The hotel staff were lovely, always helpful and polite. The food was also very good. We met our guide Pappuo in the hotel. He was amazing. On our... more

I spent three days at Rashmi Guesthouse in the holy city of Varanasi. I found the hotel to be clean, well run, and reasonably priced. The staff were professional and courteous. I also ate most of my meals at the rooftop Dolphin Restaurant and the food was consistently good and the views up and down the Ganges are terrific. I... more

I believe this really is the place to stay when visiting Varanasi, an amazing experience. I was expecting the hotel to be a very basic guest house but was very impressed as it was a much better hotel than some of the other heritage hotels I stayed in whilst travelling North India. The hotel is located on the River Ganges,... more

I stayed at Rashmi for 12days and it made my whole Indian experience. Not only was Rashmi and her family very welcoming, but the staff was fantastic... The restaurant overlooking the ganges had the most amazing food and there is really no reason to search elsewhere for dining options. PAPPU, one of the guides at the hotel, became like a... more

At the start of a month long business trip in India, colleagues/friends and I stayed here for three days. My biggest complaint is that they put through my hotel charges (meals, internet access, taxi from train) as a CASH ADVANCE on my credit card, rather than as a purchase. So, for what amounted to U$55, my credit card company added... more
