We were in Varanasi during the Kumbha Mela (not sure how that's spelt) and the place was heaving. The hotel terrace was a lovely bolt-hole apart from a member of staff who often came there to noisily clear the phlegm from his throat. Lots of dogs barking at night, but hey! we're in India!
