If you are coming to expirience banaras, then things of being at luxury is out of the list. You can get help from hotel guys. Being near to the burning ghats, make you expirience the Place more better. It's the pure expirience of Banaras. In terms of food,go for other resturants on road towards Assi Ghat. The View from balcony is just... More

This was not a good place to stay longer than max one night. We spent 5 nights. The hotel is right next to the burning ghat. That might be interesting for couple of days but if you're staying longer it might be a little bit too much. Smelling burning bodies 24/7 is not than much fun. But that wasn't even... More

No rooms anywhere when arrived in Varanasi late at night. I remembered that the Sonmony had been recommended to us by another traveler so we made our way to Harischandra Ghat, one of the burning ghats. We checked into room #22 and the night watchman was kind enough to give us a couple of towels and sheets. Not the cleanest... More

Hey all, Was here in Jan of 2011. Picked this hotel out from a hostel site and a video someone took of their boat tour on the Ganges as they passed by the waterfront hotel. This hotel is relatively new by the oldest living city in the world's standards (1980's i think). It is the best location, hirishchandra ghat is... More

I had a bad experience here, we didnt get any sheets and the manager really didn't care. I felt ripped off despite the room only being 800 rp per night. It did have good views over the oldest(not biggest) burning ghat. The bathroom was also awful, the sink wasn't plumbed in. And no water came out of the shower. I... More

I wouldn't recommend this place.  For starters, they expect payment up front for the duration of your stay which is a bit dubious. Secondly they wanted to take a copy of our passports which we didn't agree to.  Worst of all there were no sheets to sleep under - with the excuse that the laundry hadn't come back. A hotel... More

I stayed here because it was cheap for aircon and having a balcony with Ganges view. I did not realise how close to the crematoriums it was. If you stay here, make sure that you don't get room 37, or any rooms along that wall as that is the side alley of crematoriums outside. This ghat is a 24/7 crematorium... More

I stayed in this hotel in mid April 2011 and it was really hot there by this time of the year. The hotel is close to the ghats and the staff (the manager) is really nice and helpful. But... the rooms and the toillet is not clean at all. Lots of mosquito inside the rooms also. Try to find something... More

Very rundown and sad hotel. The rooms are dirty and dark. The sheets and blankets were not clean. The bathroom had leaking water and looked like it had never been cleaned. The only positive thing I can say is that it is very close to the ghats.

Very good located hotel, with a very nice view of the Ganges. Room was small but quite ok, there was only shower, sink in the hallway. You can watch from your balcony ceremonies over the river. You have view for ghat for funeral ceremonies, where they burning corpses. There's also quite nice rooftop restaurant.
