Hotel Maya was clean and the rooms were spacious. Our room had AC, a fan, TV and en suite bathroom. The staff were excellent: very professional, yet friendly, courteous and willing to help wherever possible. The hotel is centralled located, close to the Taj Mahal. My only complaint was that while the staff at the hotel where excellent, some of... more

We stayed in this hotel for two days, and I only can recommend the restaurant, not the hotel. Nothing special about the room, and the bathroom was terrible, and bad smell. But the worst is the free pick-up service. Please, be careful with the rickshaw driver called MUNHA, slim and about 1.85 meter tall. At the beginning, while he take... more

The location of the Maya Hotel is so close to the beautiful Taj Mahal that you can walk there in 5 minutes along a street that has been mainly closed off to traffic. The rooms are small, there was an ensuite and a restaurant had great food. There was a room available for our driver and parking for his car... more

I stayed in Maya Hotel & Restaurant for 3 nights in September. My experience about the hotel was extremely good. The staff is nice and polite, the rooms are tidy and clean, all the rooms had Western toilets, which were clean, and the restaurant had very good food... I'd say it was the best food that I tasted in any... more

I didn't stay at the hotel, but we ate at the restaurant a number of times. The restaurant was excellent, it had a rooftop restaurant, with no view but it had an awesome ambiance, where you could sit on cushions on a floor table. We really enjoyed it. The food was great and it was a little more expensive compared... more

What to say super clean, aircon & satellite TV all for 800 Rupees. Restaurant staff are a bit pushy "Service is not included Sir". Otherwise a real bargain more

I stayed at the hotel for one night. I had looked at a few others but somehow this one stuck. The staff is pleasant. The room was bright, airy and big.The bed was a bit hard -- a thinish mattress on a cement slab (not as bad as the description sounds). One thing to note, there was only a squat... more

The Maya offers very good value for your dollar. Remember, but don't be put off, this is a budget hotel. The location is great-minutes walking from Taj, the restaurant outdoors on 2nd floor has great atmosphere and food -at good price, rooms are very good, and the staff are very good. The owners are also involved in helping a school... more

My wife and I stayed at the Maya following a 'recommendation' in the Footprint guide book to India. We think that recommendation ought to be revised! We stayed for two nights. The room was filthy; the bed sheets weren't clean, nor were the towels and the 'en-suite' bathroom was at best shabby, and at worst insanitary. Furthermore, the hotel's electricity... more

It's a stone's throw from the West Gate of the Taj Mahal and on the cusp of the buzzing alleyways of the Taj Gahj district. It's a good value backpacket hotel run by lovely owners and a friendly, efficient staff. It's clean and cared for though showing its age a bit (aren't we all?). It has a great restaurant (choice... more
