Stayed here for 2 nights as part of an organised tour in October 2012. This was an alternative stay organised by a well known Tour agent as it was not possible to go to Ramthambore as the National Parks were shut. We have several complaints about our stay which I list below. * The door did not fit the room... More

We stayed for two nights as part of an organised tour. The accommodation was rustic but delightful. The food was good as was the service and the staff friendly. We were there in November and the evenings were chilly but sitting around a "camp fire" with other guests was very pleasant. The safari on the Chambal river was an amazing... More

As a foreigner( and seasoned visitor to India) who was not on the Agra circuit we came here because we were seeking something different We were not disappointed . The Mela Kothi cottage was very comfortable complete with a little garden out back the walk across the lawn to meals was short although it is as well to carry a... More

We stayed here. The place is basic and quiet. The service decent. The food is mostly Indian and nothing to write home about. I have stayed in several similar properties and I feel that both the variety and the taste of food needs to be improved. The safaris are nice but again overpriced. It caters mostly to foreigners who are... More

We came to Chambal after a night at Barapatpur. We loved the little cottages and delicious food. They have a table on the lawn which is staffed all day serving tea, coffee and biscuits. The naturalist, Gaj, gave us a late afternoon tour of the grounds and then took us on the river safari which was beautiful. Lodge staff actually... More

The Chambal Safari Lodge near Agra is one of the best wildlife resorts in India. Cottages are clean and the ambience within the property is awesome. The food and the staff are both outstanding. The boat safari on the Chambal river was a brilliant experience having spotted the skimmers, besides the crocodiles, gharials, turtles, and many other birds too. the... More

The lodge is basic but very comfortable and clean but the great reason to stay there is to go on boat rides on the nearby river and visit the wetlands which are absolutely spectacular. The wildlife is amazing, the views are stunning and everybody is extremely friendly. Great place!

Chambal Safari Lodge is an excellent location for bird watchers and nature lovers. Guests are provided with a comprehensive checklist of not only birds but also mammals, reptiles and flora. We saw in excess of 112 bird species, seven reptile species and seven mammal species during our three night stay. Our naturalist guide was keen, enthusiastic, professional, personable and fun.... Chambal provides tranquility in a country short of this quality. Although not nearly as isolated as I had been led to believe, it still provided a quiet, peaceful, and enjoyable holiday trip. Our room was large, with a/c (not all rooms have a/c and you need it between mid-March and when they close at the end of April), and all... More

We had 2 nights at the lodge. The rooms are very nice, basic[that means no TV] rustic, but nice decor. Good beds and nice showers with hot water. It is a bit of a walk to the restaurant in the dark, but wasn't a problem for us [maybe for children or older persons] There are solar torches available in all... More
