Despite some changeable weather I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Chambal. The river trip is well worthwhile and luckily it was sunny with clear skies. On day two I opted for the Village walk which was wonderful. People invited me into their houses for tea and snacks and were so hospitable and friendly. The lodge owner and staff were always... More

First impressions were that the main buildings looked a bit jaded but this was soon overwhelmed by the warmth of the welcome. The staff soon won us all over with great personal service and attention. The food was local, fresh and very good. Accommodation was set in the trees and we were surrounded by many varieties of birds. Rooms were... More

Fantastic, attractive, large room. Good food, 200 rupee beer (good compared to many other lodges in the country). Intermittent slow wifi (would be better if there was none!). Great grounds, filled with bats and birds and civets. Be careful of the main building's washroom -- it's where mosquitos go on vacation.

I'm no birder but you don't really need to be. There were wonderful birds that anybody could enjoy. We saw flying foxes, Indian hares, monkeys, and civets everyday. On the river tour that came with our stay we saw garials, crocs, a jungle cat, and a river dolphin in addition to the countless birds pointed out by our expert guide.... More

This is really just a lovely, wonderful place to stay. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful and the food was just outstanding. I arrived early in the afternoon on a lovely sunny day. I was checked in taken to my Lodge, named after the Ibis, and since lunch was being served just dropped my bags and... More

We really enjoyed our two nights at Chambal Safari Lodge. Our room (well more of a suite really) was simply yet elegantly furnished (with a really comfortable bed). A nice touch was the provision of a bottle of mosquito repellent (in addition to the in-room devices). The naturalist, Mr. Dushian, was a fantastic asset to the lodge, with an encyclopaedic... More

This place was an oasis of calm after the madness of Agra and I wish I could have stayed longer. This was probably one of my favourite places during our two week stay in India. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and made our grandson especially welcome. The chef tried really hard to make sure there was always something... More

Though I would love to spend even the whole week there. Went there with my 3-yr old daughter, and she loved it even more than I did. This place is great for kids, as it is covered with trees and is a heaven for spotting animals/birds. From squirrels to a large hare, from bats to parrots, and even a peacock... More

We had a flying visit to this Lodge but we are so glad we did! We were made thoroughly welcome and felt at home straight away. The food was excellent. The river was magical. Gharials, dolphins etc. Amazing trip.

This place is a class act. The visit here felt like visiting friends and did not have the impersonal feel that most resorts or hotels tend to have. 1. Location: About 60 some kilometers from Agra. The road conditions are reasonably good. It took us about 4 hours to reach from greater noida (the start of the new expressway to... More
