Stayed at kings cliff en route to palakkad from bandipur. Found the hotel with some difficulty....no sign boards. Even the board at entrance can be easily missed. Better to ask for Earl's secret at ooty town to get directions. Check in was smooth. Room was just next to reception. Its a large colonial bungalow. ..so the adjoining room was the... More

I've been eating here for about 10 years now, even stayed once. Food is great, limited menu but great taste. Ambience, surroundings, service are all spot on. Rooms are not exactly luxurious but full of antique furniture and quaint. Would I recommend? Yes, especially for couples looking for a peaceful holiday

King's Cliff is an old colonial style property maintained in its old grandeur, under the possible economic constraints. The approach is through the winding road from Charing cross building up the hill station excitement and leads up to the lawns of this property. The food here is good served well but the wait period is very high. But you don't... More

I chose King's cliff based on one of my colleague's recommendation. The property is old and still maintains it's historic charm. The location of the hotel is also excellent. The property has huge lawn and open area, so if you are travelling with a toddler you cant ask for more. One best part of this property is the in-house restaurant.... More

King's Cliff is an old English property that has been renovated into a small and mostly well thought out hotel. We arranged for the hotel to collect us from Coimbatore airport and we enjoyed the trip up through the hills to the hotel which looks down on Ooty town centre. We arrived at the front desk and found it hard... More

With the hope of a pleasant stay waited to checkin at Kingscliff at 9am on 27th Mar’14. Having been asked to go for breakfast so that the room could be made ready, we went for breakfast only to be greeted with unfriendly, non empathetic and unapologetic restaurant staff. We waited for few pooris for more than half an hour.Everytime we... More

To start of with, dont let them flog you the Verona suite, a blind, dark room looking out on a pile of rubbish at the back of the hotel. After being shown the room and threatening to go and sleep somewhere else, I was upgraded to a front facing room with a decent view. The ceiling was very high and... More

Stayed here for a day. Each room is named and we stayed in Hamlet. Hamlet had a small veranda with chairs to relax and have tea/coffee facing the lawn outside. Spacious bathroom and TV was provided. We could not find any plug points for charing the mobiles, had to remove the bedside lamps and use that to plug and charge.... More

We spent 3 nights here and very much enjoyed the atmosphere. The rooms do vary somewhat and I would recommend the deluxe rooms inside the main building as the best. Service was great, the restaurant has a great menu and everything we tried was excellent. Wifi sort of works around the lounge area but intermittent. Shekyr, the house keeper is... More
