One of the best Heritage Palace Hotels we have stayed. Its architecture, size, garden, interior halls, dinning area, decoration, everything has this luxurious feeling of an aristocratic colonial & Indian past. The approach to the Palace, bypassing the lush green roadways, silent pathways, welcoming flags. The Palace grounds accentuates the alpine look of the place with its manicured gardens, firs & cedars. The Palace is spread out over 50 acres of green... More

My spouse and i had booked our honeymoon at Fernhill and stayed for 4 days-3 nights. We arrived after an arduous and delayed journey, only to be greeted by the gentle May showers which sent us scurrying to our auto and we were on the way to Fernhill. . The way leading upto the summer palace of Wadiyars is just stunning... More

colonial and classy. this is a must do on a trip to ooty, even if it's just for a meal. was pleasantly surprised to find it so reasonable. The erstwhile palace of the kings of mysore, this palace hotel is majestic to look at and immediately transports you to the glorious past. The staff is friendly and well informed. The... More

Was there last week with a set of friends for a Association Dinner and Dance for Founders celebrations of my school. The place is so stuck in time that its some times appreciated as that whats you expect also. Its started at 7:30 pm and was to end by 11:00 pm . The guard was stuck to being so behind... More

Fernhills palace is a very good resort.the beauty is that it has been converted to a hotel from a "wayanad" palace.majorly all the artefacts and antiques of the palace are intact in the hotel adding to the glamour.all rooms are different in decor and size.feels like staying in one of the bedroom of a palace.the service is really impressive.the restaurent... went just after the New year peak season....lovely looking property no doubt. However, whats is more charming is the level of personalized service . .from every member of the staff......one interaction with the general manager, and we knew excellent service is in their DNA. Nice room, and well done bathrooms. Spotlessly clean hotel... even the top edges of photo frames... More

I went there with my husband and son for a short break in April 2014. It was a fantastic experience. Although it was extremely expensive, the beautiful grounds, the large room and bath made up for the price. The views were breathtaking. The trees are really old, and each had a distinct character. There was a largish wooded area which... More

This remarkable building is both a private hotel and a public Royal Palace, although the 2nd function plays second-fiddle to the first. It was in the latter capacity that I visited it with my wife last January. But a glance at the facilities was enough to persuade us that this is where we should stay if we ever come back... More

We stayed there for 1 night on January 2012. It is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed. In fact the word hotel is unfair. It is a palace! Its architecture, size, gardens, interior halls, decoration, everything has this luxurious feeling of an aristocratic colonial and indian past and you can feel that immediately after you enter the... The hotel is located at a very convenient place in Ooty. It's got the old world charm. The kids would also love the place. The chef is the only person in the entire staff who has some semblance of sanity(!). The rest of the staff behaves as if we were still in the colonial era. Absurd! Recommended only if you... More

WelcomHeritage Fernhills Palace is the summer Palace of the Mysore Maharajas. It was built in 1844 by Capt. F. Cotton. It changed several hands as the time went by till mid-1860s, when it was temporarily named Moonesami and served as one of the Ooty's earliest club hotels. The year was 1873 when Ferrnhills Palace found a new royal owner. His Highness Chamarajendra Wadiyar X is the first Indian Royal to buy an English holding in Ooty. Since then Ferrnhills Royale Palace has been with the Wadiyar dynasty and today it continues in the capable hands of His Highness Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar.
