The overall experience was not very good. To start with the service was really bad. Only the front desk people knew proper English. The room service people and other people on the floor did not knew English or HIndi, which made it impossible to communicate. The room were standard like other hotel rooms, but there was problem in the bathroom.... More

The Madurai Residency was probably our best stay in this year's trip. The rooms have a great price/value ratio, are spotless and calm. Good in-house restaurant. The hotel is conveniently situated very close to the train station (about 5min walk between the station and the hotel, so don't pay more than Rs 30 for rickshaw if you nevertheless decide to... More

The proximity to the sights is great. My room was a bit dreary but nothing was really wrong. It had a strong smell of mothballs which I believe are used for bug control. I asked about internet one night. They pointed to a computer. I used it then they tried charging me an exorbitant sum. I argued a bit and... More

When my family wanted to visit Madurai the first thing came to my mind is how about accommodation. Then I did the obvious thing (search internet) and talk to my agent. Though a bit suspicious I opted for the same. Rooms are ok and service is quite good for the money I paid. The best part is it's quite near... More

Had to visit and stay at Madurai on a recent business trip. The hotel is located about 15 Kms (10 miles) from the Madurai Airport but the best bit about the hotel is the proximity to the main railway station (just a few mins walk). The front office staff attempt to appear friendly! Knowledge of English is reasonably poor -... More

I had a AC deluxe room booked in this hotel. The room was excellent with its interiors and furnishings. The bathroom was also very good but without any luxurious attractions like bathtub etc. The travel desk at this hotel was very helpful and the sight seeing tour to temples was made comfortable by them. The staff was very courteous. Th... More

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! It is a cheap hotel with clean and nice rooms (my room had a nice view of the famous temples of Madurai) nice staff, a very good restaurant (for dinner it is possible to enjoy the terrace with a wonderful view of the town), and perfect location (just 2 minutes walking far...
