Despite it was recommended as a budget option in my travel book, we had to bargain a lot for the price. Definitely not worth what they ask for! Sheets were extremely dirty (not sure if they even changed them), we had to ask for another set. Bathroom had a weird strong smell, had to keep the door closed at all... More

Its an average hotel in madurai, dont expect much from here....service is so so,rooms are not very clean but you can manage if you dont think about it much...the people are nice...and they have all the tour facilities around madurai...and its quite good and cheap also...all in all its an average hotel.

We stayed for 2days at this place and were really nice welcomed. The rooms were clean and large and for the money definitivly fine (only the elevator sucked cause it doesn't move when 1 of the 2 doors stays a little open and it happens often). After check-in we get asked if we want coffee/tea/laundry/brandy and got some coffee for... More

I actually wasn't expecting much except for a cheap room, so I sort of knew what I was getting in to. Unfortunately, Madurai doesn't have a lot of clean options in the way of budget hotels. If you can splurge a bit in this city I think you'll be better off, but if you need to stay on budget, this... More

Checked in only cos we were really tired and had no patience to search for other places. Location of this property is pretty good, no complains in that regard. Dirty bedspreads, tiny rooms, not maintained well, bathroom functional for emergencies. The rent is very very high for the quality of room. Went about hunting bedbugs within 15 mins of checking... I was on a short vacation for Ramesawram & Madurai in 1st week of Oct'2012. I wanted to stay near to Temple and auto guy landed in West Tower hotel in west tower street of Madurai just 100-150 mts from west tower of the temple. Room price is above average with respect to below average service and cleanliness. The worst... More

To put it short: There are a couple of hotels to avoid in India and the West Tower Madurai is definitely the leader of the pack. Being rated by LP as between budget and mid-range, I wonder wether the LP guys were completely drunk when they visited. While the staff were ok (but not more), the rooms were not. Entering... More

It's right next to the temple, but on a VERY noisy side street. Rooms are fair. My fan didn't work, but the staff fixed it. Staff was nice enough, but not super friendly like in other guesthouses in India. There are a bunch of other guesthouses in the area that are probably worth checking out first.

The People there are more or less friendly and the location is very good. But that`s it if you would like to say any good about this hotel. The price is more mid range than budged while the rooms are the contrary. Its quite dity. The sheets of the beds need a good wash and the bathrooms need to get... More

We just had a trip to Madurai and stayed in what is possibly the worst guesthouse in the country - the Hotel West Tower. The guidebook recommended it as being clean, friendly and close to the temple - about as inaccurate as possible. I've travelled on a tight budget in India on and off over 15 years, paying between 30... More
