This is the best place to stay while visiting Coonoor / Ooty.. a beautiful, quaint place tucked away in the hills. The hotel has a beautiful lawn overlooking the valley. The food and service are pretty good, they serve continental as well as Indian cuisines. Very courteous staff.. they even lit a bonfire in the evening at our request.

Wonderful views but not a comfortable chair to sit on to enjoy them. Nowhere comfortable to sit after dinner. Bedrooms absolutely basic for ourselves and our friends. Towels must have been originals. No management around to train or control staff (of which there were few). Group of young people having a party around a campfire with music until 11.30pm. Breakfast... More

Dear Ms. Mary, Thank you for your feed back for McIver. I apologise if the dinner group was noisy and disturbed you the night you were here. I am also sorry you found All the chairs in the property uncomfortable. Since our 4 yrs of functioning, this is the first time we have had a complaint regarding this. As far... More

•Location – 5/5 – Overlooking one of the best valley-views in Coonoor. Near the Cantonment area. Near the Park. Very well located, yet quiet and serene •Ambience – 4/5 – Charming, Restored property. Doesn’t seem old though. •Cleanliness –4/5 – Well kept, well maintained. Nice and clean. Just right •Value Equation-4/5 – Despite high room rentals, McIver justifies its price... More

Had fun here with Friends and Family! Stephan is an excellent cook and will look after you very well. It is very pleasant stay experience at the 180 Mciver in Coonoor. The ambient is very pleasant and very close (walk-able distance) to Coonoor Flower Park and hotels and so on. The food is good and outside playing area is very... More

Stayed at Mciver for 2 nights with family in July. The monsoon still on , the view was breathtaking. Was given the connected rooms which happens to be right on the verandah running all around the typical colonial type house. The other rooms are well inside the house. Rooms have the old charm but probably would be cold during winters.... More

McIver is a legend in the hills of Connoor and our experience lived upto it. We went for lunch on a lazy Sunday afternoon and the villa is beautiful. Downside is service is a little slow and each order takes upto 45 mins on a busy day but the property and the view is so beautiful you don't mind the... More

We stayed here for a night in early June 2013 and loved it. The gardens are beautiful, the view is incredible and the building has loads of colonial-era charm. We had one night in the hotel it's self in a very large, well decked out room. It was very comfortable, and pleasantly quirky (antique furniture and pink walls!). My only... More

A lovely old colonial villa "restored" to perform as a period hotel, 180 McIver claims to have the best restaurant in Coonoor and we decided to drop in to see the place and pop a bite. The food was however quite disappointing, apart from being very late in arriving. Yet the staff did their best to "make up" for the... More

We stayed at McIver 180 during May 2013 for 3 nights and 4 days. Drove all the way from Bangalore and reached the place around 5 in the evening. Stunned by the first look, we inspected the room booked and were amazed at the spacious Blackwood room. We took our first evening tea sitting on the lawn, over looking the... More
