We checked into a terrace suite at "Shiv Niwas Palace Udaipur" which was amazing. Stunning views over the city and the lake. Real old school quality and not to be missed. Food at the terrace restaurant overlooking the Lake Palace was superb and I mean really superb and was probably the best value meal in the whole of India. Due... More

Shiv Niwas Palace hotel is the part of the current Maharana's private residence. It is a old heritage property.well kept but unfortunately not so well managed. The staff lack genuine warmth. The sunset terrace the restaurant by the lake is beautiful in its setting but again the ambience can be improved upon. The food is a disaster n needs improvement both in pricing... More

We have just returned from an excellent trip to India with the family. One of the Forts we were booked in for 2 nights was so so horrible in every way that we (7 of us) decided to cut short our 2 nights and go to the next destination a day earlier. October is the begining of the tourist season... More

I stay with my family to Shiv Niwas Palace for 4 nights and 5 days and each day we spent felt like royal the treatment we got from hotel staff is excellent. We love the food. All the places are almost near by hardly 10min walking and the hotel itself got lots to see. the room we took was almost... More

Went with family and stayed for two nights. The location of the hotel is great as it's within the City Palace complex. Rooms were good but don't expect a five star ambience. It's an old palace converted into a hotel so it has the old world charm. Tried the food at Sunset Terrace in their sister hotel Fateh Prakash with... More

It was the best experience we had 3 rooms . Clean , great staff and great ambiance with fantastic restaurant options. Though the trip was in Diwali and the city was crowded , hotel was very quiet and peaceful. they should just give different time slots for visiting in house museums for residents especially in season or peak period.

This is a wonderful, rambling old hotel featuring courtyards, balconies, a gorgeous swimming pool, a somewhat eccentric bar, a bandstand (!), and a staff that is unfailingly helpful. Utterly charming. It is right on the lake (boat rides take off from the hotel dock) and part of the Udaipur City Palace complex, with its impressive museum.

This place is basically for all those monuments and history lovers. since a palace has been converted to a hotel its not very modern. The rooms are small. The lake view restaurant is amazing. The palace at night looks very romantic. The pool is huge. Breakfast was good. No halal food though. The palace is in a very busy area.... More

We visited this restaurant during lunch . You get very good view of udaipur city from here . In evening or in winter you can sit outside . Food is very good and service is also good . You can try paneer lababdar which is very tasty . You can also try for few Rajasthani dishes also .
