This place is a gem, situated in a quiet area of Lal Ghat in walking distance of the main sights of Udaipur. From the front it isn't much but step inside to the foyer and you will see the small swimming pool. Climbing the stairs to the first floor of rooms the hotel gets better still with ornate wooden doors... More

The room I stayed has two large windows with one opened to the lake and another opened to a small square near lake. The view is spectacular and you can sit or lie beside the bay window reading or napping. The problem is lack of hot water. When I checked in, the staff told me the hot water is served... More

We stayed in many low end hotels on a 17-day trip to India but the only one we really couldn't tolerate was Devraj Niwas. It smelled like sewage in the lobby; the whole place had a dark and musty feel; there was an electrical cord literally running through our shower; the lady who runs the massage business inside continually pestered... We stayed here for three nights. I didn't book the number by myself, so I didn't know what to expect. First that I noticed, it was a very convenient location - next to the boat train stop and the ticket office. The stuff was very kind and helpful, we checked in very quickly. And the main impression was the view... More

I must admit, this was by far as the best part of my trip to Rajasthan.. its romantic restaurant, with beautiful views of the palaces on the lake, combined with great and friendly service, made this the highlight of my trip.

We stayed one night in this hotel because our actual hotel - Krishna Niwas - was overbooked. The room was tiny with no view, the beds were small with thin mattresses and simple thin blankets, so we froze all night long and hardly slept. The bedroom was clean but the bathroom was old and tired with urine leaking out of... More

The staff at Devraj nivas are great! They made our stay very smooth. We stayed at this hotel on our family trip to Udaipur. We stayed here for four nights. After much research we chose devraj nivas. Our main criteria was a view of lake Pichola. Devraj nivas did not disappoint. Out premier room and the roof top restaurant presented... More

Location : Excellent - very near to Boating on Lake Pichola, City Palace, Bagore Museum and Jagdeesh temple (7-8 minutes) which saves lot of time. Rooms : Stayed in both non lake side (1 day) and lakeside facing (2 days) and no prizes for guessing the winner - the lakeside rooms (Room no 111 with 2 side facing and view... More

the ‘deluxe luxury room’ is maybe not as you would expect with that title but is fine. The bathroom is large and very basic but the shower is powerful and hot. Sometimes you have to ask for the boiler to be put on as they don’t put it on until pm - Wet room style – soaking wet floor. The... More
