This is a good guesthouse with basic facilities for the price. This is one of the recommendations in rough guides so you can't argue they had done their homework. The people who run the guesthouse are welcoming, you get wifi in your room and you're near to all the facilities.

Guest house was tucked away off Main Street but in walking distance of most attractions. The room was large and clean. The front of house guy (sorry I've forgot his name) was excellent from the moment of check in until leaving; he offered plentiful advice with no gain to himself (unlike other places constantly looking for a bit of commission)... We stayed in the most basic room, which was great value. The location of the haveli is also fantastic, close to the footbridge, jagdish temple and city palace. Sadly when we stayed the wifi wasn't working, not too problematic as there are plenty of restaurants and cafés that have free wifi. The hot water was lacking and the shower head... More

Under 10 minutes walk to the lake and city palace. Place was clean, although the room facing the road might be noisy due to morning traffic on the narrow street outside. Proprietor showed great hospitality. I arrived one day later than planned, yet was firmly declined when i requested to pay for the extra night. They also took the effort... More

We only met one member of staff and he was great. So helpful and so welcoming. He gave us a great room for what we were paying! No need for ac as the fan was super good and nice and breezy. Was a little noisy from 5 am (not sure why) but stopped again come six... Room was basic but... More

For Rs. 150 per night including breakfast, I can't really complain, but a guesthouse should be about more than making money and I felt like a bother to the owner at Udai Haveli. Having said that, the location was good, the breakfast was good, and the price was, obviously, good.

Udaipur is an amazing destination in India!!! And what made it even better was the Udai Haveli Guest House. I felt like I was at home with the people who works there. I have made new friends among them including Vicky which is such a patient and friendly person to deal with the variety of demanding customer! The home-made food... More

Udai Haveli is just what you need in a guest house. The rooms were simple yet clean and bright - much more than you would expect given the price. The location was great - right at the heart of things, yet on a quiet side street. Breakfast was included in our booking, and the food and tea were always spot... More

Nice little house. Clean rooms. Best to avoid the 2 rooms next to kitchen and breakfast area because dark and noisy. Very helpful and nice tenants. They are about to open 3 new rooms on another wing of the house. I would recommend this place for budget traveller looking for decent comfort.

The guesthouse is run by an awesome, trustworthy and generous guy, Viru. He has a great sense of humour which is marked by his distinctive laugh... you'll see what I mean. He always made time to chat and make sure we were well taken care of. He used to be a tour guide before he moved into the guesthouse business... More
