Perched atop a hill in the 'city of lakes' (Udaipur), Fateh Garh is a beautiful heritage resort for people who love to live and enjoy in class (in short, EVERYONE). The staff (from ranks of security personnel to manager) is exceptionally cooperative and helpful. Views from the restaurant are breathtaking (especially after the sun goes down). The foreign + local... More

Visited Fateh Garh to attend a wedding, and wow was I in for a surprise. Every aspect of the hotel was outstanding, from the over sized rooms, the breathtaking views, and helpful hotel staff. I will definitely be visiting again soon!

This hotel is breathtaking. From the moment we arrived we were blown away by - the sweeping views of Udaipur, the cool breeze (it was 40+), the beautiful grounds and multiple pool areas, the oversized proportions of the rooms (the bathroom alone was as big as hotel rooms in Tokyo!), and the attentive service. The hotel architecture is palatial with... More

We had our dream Indian wedding at Fateh Garh last month - it was loud, colourful, with a touch of royal. We booked the whole hotel for two nights and held all our pre-wedding functions (Engagement, Mehendi, Sangeet, etc) as well as the wedding reception and marriage ceremony. Our guests had a fabulous time from the minute they arrived. My... More

I stayed at Fatehgarh with my family and it is the most spectacular place to live in. The view is amazing with most serene surroundings. Excellent and spacious rooms with lovely baths. Astounding courtyards and the restaurant again has the best view of udaipur and the surrounding Aravali hills. Undoubtedly the best located hotel in Udaipur and not too far... More

When i went to fateh gahr for side inspection it was great. The staff showed me around and the manager told me all about the wedding packages that sounded very promising. The day before Mr. Anil Sonil promised me that everything was on track. However on the wedding day nothing came out as planned. From NO changing room, different expected... More

Watch the sunrise and watch the sunset from the same place. This so called palace / resort is a very good option for people who want to relax and do nothing in Udaipur. It is about 4 kms from city center. The food was good. Stick to indian food and you should be okay. They do make you stuff out... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fateh Garh, a Heritage Renaissance Resort - Sanctuary, perched on the edge of Udaipur city in the Aravalli ranges, with 360° commanding views, welcomes guests with style & traditional fanfare. Fateh Garh, a 50 room property offers travelers a spacious, peaceful and quiet refuge from the noisy and crowded urban India. Conde Nast Hot List 2009:- "Until now the best places to stay in Udaipur have been the princely piles on Lake Pichola's shores or its fairy-tale island palace. Fateh Garh offers something different: "Heritage Renaissance" style. Perched on a hilltop 20 minutes outside the city, this newly constructed 51-room hotel incorporates local stone and antique architectural elements culled from abandoned historic buildings. A confection of bulbous domes, sugar-white pillars, crenellations, and intricate jali screens, it escapes the kitschy through its graceful proportions and airy reception areas, courtyard, and verandas—all of which are graced with antiques and delicate frescoes inspired by the style of Rajput miniatures. Lie by the infinity pool, listening to the sound of splashing fountains mingling with live classical shehnai music. The hotel kitchen does best with local Mewari dishes, which are a welcome change from standard Indian hotel fare". ... more   less
