Tucked away in a side street in the old city of Udaipur you will find this budget guesthouse run by Francine (Dutch owner) and Anuwar (manager). The fan room (550 Rupees per night) we stayed in had a western style toilet and views on the old city and squirrels, as well as langurs in the trees. Anuwar likes joking as... More

Kumbha Palace is ideally situated right in the centre of the tourist area, a short walk from the lake palace and restaurants. The hotel has a lovely garden (complete with tortoise!) and a nice rooftop terrace. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean, but basic (no flush on toilet). But all in all, very... More

We stayed in both the A/C deluxe room, and the standard fan room. Both were a great price and beautiful rooms. Location was perfect, with loads of places to eat, shop, and see within walking distance. Both owners and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The food is good value and cheap. After travelling in India for almost 2 months... More

I stayed at the Kumbha Palace for 2 weeks in April 2014. Initially one of the general rooms then moving to their aircondition suite. The staff were lovely and helpful, the rooms clean and the restaurant quite good. The location is excellent, the garden a lovely afternoon hideaway. Wonderful and will stay there again on my next visit.

Great place, rooms are basic but clean. Not the most comfy mattresses but when are they ever in India! The garden is a really lovely green oasis of calm and the rooftop terrace does decent food. The older guy who works on reception is a bit of a legend! Francine the owner was very nice and welcoming. Also they have... More

The hotel is up a longish alley way and has a modes unilluminatedt roadside sign so be prepared to ask if you are arriving on foot especially at night. Don't let that put you off at all. Once you make it to the reception around the back you will be pleased yo did. The lawned garden that backs up against... More

I booked into this hotel because it is an affiliate of Krishna ranch, with whom I was to set off on a five day safari on horseback. The hotel was a marvelous place to retreat to in Udaipur, with a charming garden backing onto the City Palace wall, and a rooftop terrace restaurant for lovely breakfasts, lunches and cups of... Staff really helpful, especially owner. Arranged a city ride with another company to fit my schedule. Food - brilliant. Amazing value for money Super place for stay very clean, good service windows offer a good sunlight. During mid night it becomes noisy by vehicle but second night was ok. You can have a very nicelake view from the rooftop drinking... More

This very affordable and quiet little place is very conveniently located about five minutes walk from the town centre. It is back from the road and is really peaceful. It even has a nice garden. The rooms are clean, with good quality linen on the beds. For the price you will not better it.

Very helpful staff who seemed genuinely concerned when my boyfriend was ill and got a Dr to come out to see him. He was always asking after him. He also organised a courier service that was cheaper than DHL for us. There were a few power cuts but that isn't their fault. Some extra protection like screens at the windows... More
