Everything ticked about Khem Villas and we were very happy to stay three days - that is what it deserves! The owners were charming and attentive and we talked a lot about the history and the charitable work which revolves around Khem. Excellent food: unobtrusive but good service all round: a pretty place with much to recommend it for downtime.... More

We stayed here for 2 nights while heading out on safari in the nearby national park. The cottage we were staying in was beautifully secluded. It was very clean and stylish. The staff were extremely helpful and greeted us with hot towels on return from each safari. The food was freshly cooked and local. Each morning at the crack of... More

Stayed at a Khem Villas cottage for two nights in January of 2013. Much of what I would state about the place has already been mentioned by other reviewers so I will attempt only to underscore what I feel are the significant items: Great location for safari into the tiger park, the property was comfortable and well groomed, the staff... We stayed 2 nights in a luxury villa. The set up is a prefect mix of Eco and luxury. The owners are lovely - so keen to make your stay special in a very understated way. The villas have amazing outdoor baths and showers (as well as the indoor ones). The food is simple but very good. An active discouragement... More

This is a stunning place to stay - I wish we had stayed longer to enjoy all this hotel has to offer. The vegetarian food is exceptional, the outside fireside bar is a great place to meet other travellers and share safari stories. The cottages are well appointed, lovely touches like a hot water bottle in the bed and one... More

We stayed in a tent which was too hot to be in during the day, not really a problem as there were plenty of other cool and comfortable sites around the hotel grounds to pass away the heat of the day whilst waiting for the evening safari. The hotel also offers various other opportunities and excursions including camel rides and... More

We had a wonderful time at Khem Villas which was only topped by a close encounter with T-24. - We stayed in January, it was pretty cold at night but beautiful during the day. You must bring some seriously warm clothes at this time of the year as travelling in open jeeps at sunrise is a chilly experience even with... More

Considering the superlative reviews, the website descriptions and the steep prices we were paying, Khem Vilas was unfortunately not upto our expectations. Don't get me wrong : the property is very well developed with plenty of natural surroundings, farms, trees, even a pond with its resident wild crocodile; tastefully designed cottages, common areas etc...however several factors which one takes for granted... This really is an oasis, on the edge of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, down a dusty, pot holed road which looks like it's leading nowhere. We had a room in the main house which was big enough, had a separate dressing area and a large bathroom. Everything was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Wi-fi is free, but you have... More
